SCREVEN CO., GA (WSPA) The Georgia State Bureau of Investigation has arrested a state trooper as a result of a deadly officer-involved shooting in Screven County.
According to the GBI, a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a car for a traffic-related offense on Stoney Pond Road.
When the car refused to stop, the trooper chased the car briefly down several county road, the GBI said.
Investigators said the trooper was able to use a Precision Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver which caused the car to stop in a ditch.
The GBI said the trooper fired one shot, killing 60-year-old Julian Edward Roosevelt Lewis.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigator said 27-year-old Jacob Gordon Thompson is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
Thompson has been fired from the Department of Public Safety, Georgia State Patrol.
Thompson will be booked into the Screven County Jail.
I'm sure others will feel differently.
With all those details it should be a.......... Oh, pretty lacking in those.
Not nearly enough information.
If the story as written is true, looks bad for the trooper (and worse for the guy he shot). It basically says the trooper chased the guy into a ditch and shot him.
Need more info, like some info..................
Cant assign guilt or innocence without knowing the race of the parties involved. /s
I’m assuming that no evidence of any threat to the life or safety of the officer or bystanders was found?
Light on details.......highly suspicious from the LEFT media. Withholding judgment until all facts are in.
What was the runner doing? Illegal uturn? Running down pedestrians.
Insufficient data.
Using the past to predict the future, I would go with the cop was just doing his job. It’s been the case in almost every incident so far. Certainly not enough info to judge any other way.
The account doesn’t say what happened after the perp was in a ditch. My guess is the trooper thought the guy was armed and feared for his life and shot him. I doubt the trooper just decided to chase someone down and kill them which is what this story wants you to believe.
Another idiot gets killed because they refuse to obey a law officer.
But we need more facts — did the perp have a weapon or not?
I would say there must be more information to what happened. One would be a fool to just do that in the current environment.
Since the media seems to always side with the criminals I would say the story as posted is suspect but who knows.
Does this mean:
Just wondering...
Attempting to elude is a felony.
Did you read that piece of fluff article? Jogging or falling asleep in a car?
Full disclosure, I wore a badge and gun for over 14 years doing uniformed physical security on federal agency property.
It appears the trooper became angry during the encounter with the suspect leading to an unjustified shooting.

If BLM/Antifa shows up to paint graffiti on the local kudzu and burn down fields of peanut plants...you’ll know.
