The statement "Black Lives Matter" assumes from the start that, for the police, the judicial system and everyone else, black lives do not matter. What is so conspicuous and tragic is that black lives only seem to matter if they were taken by a white person.... Sadly, when it comes to black-on-black violence, no one seems to care.
Are the politicians who claim to want help distressed communities the very ones keeping the distressed communities distressed -- and in a perpetual state of reaching out to those same politicians for dangled promises of help?
The mob's destruction or removal of statues appears an attempt to erase the history of the United States... What they are doing looks like just an old-fashioned power-grab. The first law of power-grabbers is that if no one stops them, they keep on going -- often with catastrophic consequences.

This is a MUST READ, and possibly even a MUST BOOKMARK essay.

This one, please, take the time to really read it. This French essayist crystallizes current events far better than anyone else I have read in the last year.
Bump
i can’t find my aw jeez coffee drinker meme...
“Are the politicians who claim to want help distressed communities the very ones keeping the distressed communities distressed — and in a perpetual state of reaching out to those same politicians for dangled promises of help?”
Notably Excepting Trump, politicians don’t want to fix any issue but to exacerbate it it to keep it active as an issue to help their re-election.
“If you’re not part of the solution, there’s good money to be made in prolonging the problem.”
—good article but I dispute this, as did the autopsy——
“On May 25, 2020, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a police officer, Derek Chauvin, who already had 18 complaints lodged against him, killed a black man, George Floyd, by kneeling on his neck for nearly nine minutes.”
—Floyd died of heart failure , most likely brought on by his ingestion of controlled substances and the thought of going back to jail—
i read it and it is a good analysis, but not any better than those posed here on this forum...
the will for revolution is garnered be the lack of will for those to keep the status quo. when both sides cry for revolution, because the battle lines are blurred and confusing, will will be the deciding factor.
i think we have the edge...
That is because Trump is not a politician. He’s a businessman.
Without customers, willing and able to pay, a businessman has nothing.
Politicians only care about getting re-elected and power accumulation.
We need to encourage the first and execute the latter.
Hegelian dialectic.
Cause problem, that way your desired solution can occur. Without the problem, your solution is not tenable.
You have it right. Government is invested in problems, not in solutions. More problems, more government. Solve the problem and you are not needed.
The incredible clarity with which he sees us is truly amazing and well-thought.

Its hard to find thoughtful and cogent clarity like this anymore because the Left is so adept at creating political noise, emotional crusades and media misdirection to drown out facts, logic and reason.
Thanks for posting this.
Exactly right!
Problems are springboards to power.
The status quo has been a sucky proposition from the start. Holding on to what you really don’t like to begin with is a lot harder than fighting for a position you believe in.
For Socialists, Communism is the goal.
For us, it should not be “status quo”... But a complete and TOTAL return to a Constitutional Republic. Including getting rid of all the government that has no place under our Constitution... Including some of the things conservatives might otherwise approve of... Like the FAA, FCC, FDA, DEA, etc...
Wrong is wrong. UnConstitutional is UnConstitutional.
If you aren’t willing to take a TRUE opposing stance... You will lose against a True Believer...
Just bookmarked!
....will be met with a will, a duty, an oath, an overwhelming ability, to protect and defend America and her Constitution.
Read through twice, bookmarked for copy to others, then sat and thought it through.
Qanon enthusiast would call this a nice Red Pill if it covered another year or three of events, but this is still a good first step in that direction.
Now, I do believe I’ll have breakfast and after I finish that and a few more chores I’ll go out and load some more rounds.
On May 25, 2020, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a police officer, Derek Chauvin, who already had 18 complaints lodged against him, killed a black man, George Floyd, by kneeling on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
On your recommendation, I will read more.
A French essayist you say?
