Our country is deteriorating, Graham told Starnes. We are in a nose dive. If God doesnt save us, there is no hope.

‘That is not scriptural.’
so therefore it is not a true statement...?
The Bible has all sorts of different stories about this.
“Help themselves” might apply to the Tower of Babel - didn’t turn out too well. King David - helped himself to a soldier’s wife and sent the soldier to be killed. He was still blessed by God, but was also punished.
Of course their are other examples of Godly men (Jesus and Job) that experienced personal tragedy but ultimately fulfilled God’s will.
One of our pastors talks about how it is OUR job to bring about God’s kingdom on earth (to be the hands and feet of God). “Yeah - I look at all of my failures and faults - if I was God that’s not how I would have designed it - but there it is.”
Perhaps not so much “God helps those who help themselves” - but “God helps those who follow God and help others.” Abraham and Joseph (in Egypt) would be good examples.
“The Lord helps those who help themselves.”
Cute, but not in the Bible. “Aesop’s Fables” and “Poor Richard’s Almanac” say similar. The Bible says the exact opposite.
I had a friend who thought it’s Biblical, and argued with me about it. She wouldn’t have been able to find Revelation in the Bible.
Like my cousin who has never gone to church in her life argued with Mom, the preacher’s wife, when Mom said Eve might NOT have eaten an apple. My cousin didn’t speak to Mom for about six months.
“Maybe people should stop sitting on their arse and actually get out and vote.”
I figure that everyone here will have no problem with that — broken glass. We have to make sure others who aren’t political junkies DO vote.
I see that phrase “God helps those who help themselves” is more closer to the truth of the Bible than the idea that God does everything for man while man sits idly by on his rear end doing nothing.
He is so right.
That’s why this is so critical.......
The Return - NATIONAL AND GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER AND REPENTANCE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cn9wlzsFKzc
This video by Jonathan Cahn is only 8 minutes long and explains the event. This country needs prayer and repentance.
Prayer and fasting works, true, but unless we repent of our sin, judgment will come. The whole history of Israel sets precedent for this. While many people claim the God of the OT is all about judgment, and is harsh and condemning, quite a while back, as I was reading through the prophets, especially Jeremiah, it became to clear to me that God is not quick to judge, that He’d rather not and He NEVER does it without repeated warnings and time and opportunities to repent and turn from sin and TO Him.
That last part is critical because while abandoning sin is good, without the turning to God, it really doesn’t mean anything.
Time and again, God warned and warned of coming judgment and implored people to repent.
When they did, He withheld judgment.
When they didn’t, judgment fell.
God does not want to judge us like that. He’d rather show mercy, but even He has His limits.
While those exact words, in that order do not appear in scripture, God sure helped Noah, and Job, and David and there are many more examples. The concept is simple and clear. Quit whinning and follow the prompts of the Lord.

And there’s Gideon, Hezekiah, Elisha, David.
Scripture is replete with examples of God taking care of the enemy, causing them to either destroy themselves, or Him destroying them, while Israel just stood and watched.
The chaos and disorder within the democrat party is enough to show that God is working to cause them to destroy themselves.
That said, I sure do plan on being prepared with food, shelter, ammo, etc.
We don’t know what the future holds and it’s wisdom to be prepared, but by prayer and repentance, God will take care of it.
I believe the Lord led this nation through the cival war, freeing the slaves along the way. We are about to fight the same enemy again for the same reason. The democrats are attempting to enslave all americans again. I will stand and fight, The Lord has called me to that.
I think believers will have to put feet to their prayers as well.
If we pray will abortion mills close down? Will sex trafficking stop? Etc etc
Scriptural or not, WW 1 was a prime example of christians called to arms. We won owing to the Lord. If we sat back and watched... well you know.
This is not just the democrat party
This is a global marxist movement, as before WWII, 1st Civil war, and many others, some of us christian men might just have to step up and make a sracifice. What does scripture say about a man who willingly lays down his life for others?
Great Message.
My opinion is that the NATION has to repent and turn to God..... not just a part. The verse quoted was to the Nation of Israel...the Israelites were God’ people. The Israeli nation was to repent....not just a part.
Throughout the Old Testament we see that for the most part the Israelites changed their ways when there was pain brought upon their nation.
There is no easy way out of this, that I can see.
Did God save us from King George?
Yes... But it was by giving us the strength to leave our homes and start shooting Redcoats in the face.
And nothing less will save us from the Socialist Revolution either.
Because once Socialists have control, the first thing they do is change the voting to maintain their power.
2 Chron 20:15-20 the battle belongs to the Lord means the Lord would fight against the enemy but that did not mean Israel had to do nothing. Israel still had to go out and fight the fight to win that battle “... tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.” The Lord instructed Israel on how to win the battle (2 Chron 20:16) yet Israel still had to carry out those instructions to win deliverance from the enemy.
Ex 14 God fought and defeated the Egyptian army in the Red Sea. Though Moses in Ex 14:13-14 probably did not know at that time how God would provide a means of escape from the Egyptians (Red Sea parted), the Hebrews still had to help themselves in crossing the Red Sea. Had they refused to cross the sea, had they sat idle and done nothing and not crossed the sea they would have been slaughtered by the Egyptian army.
Even though God fought fights for Israel, Israel still had their role to do in receiving deliverance.
How this relates to man’s salvation today is man cannot save himself by himself. Man needs ‘help’. Therefore God helped man by sending Christ to die on the cross providing a pathway to salvation for man thru Christ. Yet it is up to man to ‘help himself’ by taking that pathway to salvation by obeying Christ (Heb 5:9). In that sense man helps himself in his own salvation is why Peter told those in Acts 2:40 to “save thyself” Paul told Timothy to “save thyself” 1 Tim 4:16. those Corinthians “cleanse ourselves” 2 Cor 7:1. Man can “ Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded” James 4:8.
Man therefore does have his role in receiving deliverance from God’s wrath..
Another example:
In Exodus 16 Israel became hungry therefore God “helped” them by sending manna. But they still had to ‘help themselves’ by gathering the manna. Had they sat and done nothing they would have starved.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
