I see that phrase “God helps those who help themselves” is more closer to the truth of the Bible than the idea that God does everything for man while man sits idly by on his rear end doing nothing.

Scripture is replete with examples of God taking care of the enemy, causing them to either destroy themselves, or Him destroying them, while Israel just stood and watched.
