A Florida homeowner shot and killed an armed man who broke into his home on Saturday, according to Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.
Ronald Fleet, 55, was apparently angry that the homeowner and his family were helping his estranged wife as the two went through a divorce, Nocco said. The wife was related to the homeowner’s family, Nocco said, and was trying to get out of a “horrific marriage.”
The incident took place just after noon on Saturday, police said, when Fleet came to the Land O’Lakes house and began trying to kick in the front door. The homeowner grabbed his own gun, and, when Fleet succeeded in his efforts, opened fire. Fleet fired once, Nocco said, and ran back out of the house. The homeowner stopped shooting.
Fleet then “starts charging into the house,” the sheriff said, and the homeowner fired again, this time fatally wounding him.

He should have called the cops, had a better plan, instead of breaking into a home.
Don’t be daft man - the police would’ve killed him too.
This could have all been avoided had some nice, common sense, social workers been called to defuse the situation.

No sympathy for the dead guy. Someone who would do this was likely abusive, thus the reason for the divorce.

Most dangerous time for women is when they try to leave an abusive relationship. I know two women killed by husbands who couldn’t stand the loss of control:
- one shot in the parking lot of her work (he got her out of the office, just wanted to ‘talk’
- one ambushed when she returned from church (her final divorce proceeding was 2 days later on Tuesday) - he beat her to death, then called 911 & committed suicide while on the phone with the dispatcher.
Also, two cops in a neighboring county responding to a domestic were ambushed by the husband, one killed. If the “no police” crowd thinks social workers are going to handle “domestic” calls, they are sadly mistaken - I see dead social workers.
It sounds like it was horrific marriage but it’s over now.
Never get the follow ups to these stories. Really wonder if this man was intoxicated during his irrational behavior and if so with what drug. In almost all these confrontations with police, the person who assaults the officers and ends up getting shot is under the infuence of one drug or another,Is anyone suprised that George Floyd had fentenyl and other drugs in his body and does anyone think that these looters and rioters are sober? Sure the organizers offer them drugs such as amphetamines before they go on their nightly raids.
She’s out of her horrific marriage now... problem solved.
