House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed the executive actions President Trump took this weekend to provide assistance for Americans struggling amid the coronavirus as weak and an "illusion" on "Fox News Sunday" with Chris Wallace, as she defended Democrats' stance asking for trillions more in aid as negotiations with the White House and Senate Republicans have stalled.
"No, in fact, what the president did is -- I agreed what the Republican senator said -- is unconstitutional slop," Pelosi, D-Calif, said, alluding to a statement Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., put out criticizing Trump's executive actions.
She also emphasized the alleged "weakness" of Trump's orders.
"While it has the illusion of saying we're going to have a moratorium on evictions, it says I'm gonna ask the folks in charge to study if that's feasible. While he says he's going to do the payroll tax, what he's doing is undermining Social Security and Medicare, so these are illusions," Pelosi said.

Sounds like Nancy Pelosi should block this action....
Right Nanners?
Instead of the executive order on payroll, he should have shined the spotlight on their refusal to cooperate. Taxes are for house of reprobates to change laws..
All rhetoric, no action.
Yep....Social Security is not the REAL point of the payroll tax. And that is what the President is about to expose.
She might, but I doubt she will, because then she would be shown to oppose relief twice; once when she refused to make a deal with the Republicans and again when she files suit to block President Trump’s attempt to deal with it.
PIGlosi is a vile POS!!!!
PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What we are seeing played out before us are the inherent weaknesses of our system. The fact that both parties cannot -through the legislative process - compromise on such a critical and immediate need, shows just how flawed it can be. Only be executive fiat can any semblance of help be generated. In time people stop caring whether the Congress is the initiator of aid and just want it done by any means necessary. Such is the way that Rome finally embraced the Caesars.
He should order eliminating the tax on SS. Everyone resents the hell out of paying a tax on it. Lock in the senior vote but good.
The Democrats are (were) master at deceiving the public. Nancy does not like it when the President does it.
This close to the election we are at the Kabuki Theater stage.
The President knows that all the public often hears is the sound bites. With these “executive orders” he has given the public some sound bites. Now the Democrats will go out on the Sunday talk shows and explain why they oppose him. He wins, they lose.
most of the existence of the American Republic was previously well-financed with minimal national debt on taxes other than “payroll deductions” by Fed.gov
MAGA!!!!

Did she block that two year long one?
There is also the spectacle of suing an “illusion.” If none of the EO’s has substantive effect, then why oppose them? That said, I think the DEMs will sue, and be joined by some on the GOP side, like Sasse.
Hey Nance, thanks to your buddy LBJ there is no real difference between SS and the general fund.
I agree 100% on that. Take my money, give it back for a few years and tax it again, bullsnot.
As I have said before, the government does not need to tax non-sales volume.
The dollar does just fine in a full market economy to bring back double its worth.
On all sides. Piglosi being the worst of the bunch by a country mile.
Sad, but true. I believe that the inherent weakness of Congress is that we have professional politicians who have been in office 20, 30, and 40 years. We desperately need new blood in Congress by repealing the 17th Amendment and putting term limits on representatives.
Nancy Pelosi the worst Speaker in the history of Speakers . The dead Speakers could do just as good a job
When it doubt, just deny it's very existence.
It is more than any democrat has done since LBJ!!
