Arrest the White House cook!

He made dinner for Trump who then used the nourishment it provided to deliver his acceptance speech!

Also, what about all those Secret Service and guards used to protect the president before, during and after he gives his speech?

The ironmongers who made the fence? The slaves who laid the bricks? I mean, everyone in DC be violatin’ de Hatch Act!

Gillibrand: If Anyone Helps Trump with Nomination Speech ‘It’s in Violation of the Hatch Act’

Trump should really piss off the Left and give his speech just outside of the MLK museum.

Let's see: if Joe Biden can accept his nomination from his house, then I think it only fair that President Donald Trump could accept his nomination from his house, too.

Perhaps, he can have the acceptance speech from the White House Living Quarters instead of the Oval Office.

Do you think the democrats would agree to that?

The president lives at the White House. If he wants to give a speech in the backyard, he should do it.

the last president who did not give an acceptance speech for a campaign to be reelected was JFK. I guess staffers for every president for the past 50+ years have violated the Hatch Act.

It's his home. He's exempt from the Hatch Act. He can give the speech from his home, just like Biden does.

I think his campaign speech writers are not Oval Office employees. Anyone working on the campaign had previously resigned as White House employees.

Trump needs to get his acceptance from ANY PLACE outside Washington DC. Some place with an uplifting background — preferably outside but not necessarily.

Giving an acceptance speech from the Oval Office just sounds boring. Surely his team can figure this out. It needs to be a location that increases curiosity and viewership.

The current provisions of the so-called “Hatch Act” derive from the Hatch Act Amendments of 1993,’ and generally apply to, among other specified employees, “any individual, other than the President and the Vice President, employed or holding office
