LA Mayor Will Cut Power, Water To Homes And Businesses That Disobey Him
Federalist ^

L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that he ordered the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to cut off the water and electricity to any homes, venues, or businesses in violation of COVID-19 safety measures.

In April, Garcetti enacted a similar order that applied to any non-essential businesses that defied his “Safer at Home” mandate.

The announcement comes just days after Los Angeles police responded to a “gang related” shooting at a large house party in Beverly Crest. According to Garcetti, this order will help limit people’s right to assemble.

“We’ve been clear from the beginning that getting together in groups outside of your household is not permitted, is not allowed. We’ve asked Angelenos not to gather or have parties,” Garcetti began.

“By turning off that power, shutting off that water we feel we can close these places down, which usually are not one-time offenders but multiple-offenders,” he added.

You think they will honor a constitutional amendment that says they have to stop ignoring the constitution? That ship has sailed, we’re living in a post constitutional America at this point where politicians have declared they are the law and courts have upheld it.

Most health codes have extreme authority to limit the infected, and nearly as much to limit the likely infected.

But to limit the uninfected?

“It’s Good To Be King”

It’s good to be king, if just for a while
To be there in velvet, yeah, to give ‘em a smile
It’s good to get high and never come down
It’s good to be king of your own little town

Yeah, the world would swing if I were king
Can I help it if I still dream time to time

It’s good to be king and have your own way
Get a feeling of peace at the end of the day
And when your bulldog barks and your canary sings
You’re out there with winners, it’s good to be king

Yeah I’ll be king when dogs get wings
Can I help it if I still dream time to time

It’s good to be king and have your own world
It helps to make friends, it’s good to meet girls
A sweet little queen who can’t run away
It’s good to be king, whatever it pays

Excuse me if I have some place in my mind
Where I go time to time

In the middle of summer. I am touched by his concern for our health and safety.

It’s an administrative penalty, it’s not incarceration.

Except that heat and water are lifebearing, both practically and in general, legally. It’s closer to making war than incarceration.

This may be another reason for the big push on smart meters. Now it is just a few keyboard clicks away.

Well, there you go. I didn't realize that Smart Meters had a remote disconnect function, but a bit of Googling says yes they do.

Yes I do as they are not really ignoring the constitution now. What they are doing is exploiting loop holes and bad precedent that have accumulated over years while citizens have been asleep at the wheel. When the rules are spelled out in black and white and the intent of the Amendment is known to everyone because it was recently enacted it makes it very difficult if not impossible to ignore. emergency powers are what is being used to to justify this nonsense and most of these laws were passed many years ago and were never tested until now. Take away emergency powers that effect individuals, groups or businesses in any way and it’s over.

Most of the time domestic water and fire lines are split, however, they use to run the together and split the line in the building. I know in the state of Florida you can not shut off a fire line for any reason and the fire marshal does have the authority to arrest the governor.

““Can he declare martial law? This sounds like martial law.”

That’s usually reserved for governors, not mayors.”

That’s what I thought.

Seems to me they’d need some sort of court order or warrant. Or the police can go arrest them or break it up.

How it’s legal to simply turn off power on a mayor’s decree is a mystery.

This is a violation of free association and the First Amendment. Especially when 2000 can riot but you can’t have 20 for a civil party.

You have to PRACTICE this stuff; before the BIG thing hits...

Revelation 13:17 KJV

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
