Actor Ryan Reynolds says he and his wife Blake Lively will always be deeply and unreservedly sorry for holding their wedding at a former plantation in South Carolina.
Reynolds discussed his shame over the 2012 wedding at Boone Hall in Charleston County in an interview posted by Fast Company Tuesday.
Its something well always be deeply and unreservedly sorry for, he said. Its impossible to reconcile. What we saw at the time was a wedding venue on Pinterest. What we saw after was a place built upon devastating tragedy.
The Deadpool actor said a mistake like that can either cause you to shut down or it can reframe things and move you into action.
The couple donated $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund in May as the Black Lives Matter movement grew in prominence following George Floyds death in Minneapolis police custody.
Last year, the couple reportedly donated $1 million to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the Young Center for Immigrant Childrens Rights, according to Fast Company.

$200k should cover their “guilt”.
Is this the guy who agreed with not having the AMERICAN FLAG in some moon movie or something?
PATHETIC.
But please, no white dunce caps. Pointy white hats have a bad connotation. You dont want to get in trouble twice.
On top of that, he married a woman!
Will the outrages never end?
I guess the next virtue signal will be not getting married in a former Confederate state.
LOL
I think you should kill yourselves to show just how truly sorry you are for such an unpardonable sin.
That tells us quite a lot about their agent.
Blake Lively is gorgeous.
Maybe they could form a confederation of expelled states?
Rhode Island Plantation? That's small enough to be bulldozed into the ocean. Create a larger Long Island? Hell of a real estate opportunity.
Cucks who apologize deserve to be cancelled.
Nobody in America with a brain gives a damn about modern blacks and their phony whining and grievances. Democraps and black “leaders” are what is keeping black people “down” these days.
On top of that, he married a woman!
Will the outrages never end?
Ouch! That one hurt.
No donation will ever be enough. No apology will ever be enough. There’s blood in the water and cancel culture can smell it from a mile away.
Best thing to do in any future interview is bypass the whole topic: “I’m not here to talk about my wedding, I love my wife with all my heart and we’ve moved past this issue in our lives. I’m here to talk about X”.
Come on everybody!
Lets shakedown the cowardly white guy!
Looks like I might have seen the #neeverTrump Hussein Head for BJ Clinton’s wife in a couple Twilight Zones 20+ years ago, but not enough to recognize the POS, so we’re good.
Almost any good piece of land in the South was part of a plantation, SO WHAT?
Butt, did they wear cotton? Just wonderin’.
When I was growing up, my family rented the Gate Keeper’s cottage on a old Southern plantation near Annapolis Maryland. The mansion house where our landlord lived was an beautiful example complete with tall wooden pillars and everything you might expect.
I tried finding it using Google maps about 6 or 7 years ago. I found the address, but the buildings are gone and the location now has a half dozen 50 or 60 feet high mounds of gravel and rock.
What a shame.
“On top of that, he married a woman!”
And to top it off, she’s hot! She was in “The Town.”
