Certainly this letter is well-intentioned, with its authors citing the awful prospect of losing a projected “200,000 American lives by November 1st” as motivation for penning the message. Healthcare professionals are nobly bound to the hippocratic oath. But realistically, the idea of shutting America down again is impractical and insulting, especially to those who have complied with the first nationwide lockdown.

The virus wasn’t a hoax. We should have isolated those at high risk and kept life as normal as possible for the to 98%. You are the fool thinking the whole shutdown lock down did any good. I read someplace that in Germany the first known case, a man, back in March no longer has the Antibodies for Covid-19 and now he can be re-infected.
They German Doctors said we’re looking at possible 120 days of having antibodies and that’s it.
If this is true.......we better get a grip on this thing because it took 2 years for the 1918 Flu to finally vanish. That’s without being able to become infected over and over again.

My job required me to drive 150 miles a day and spend 3 hours on the road. I now work from home and probably will into next year. This is saving me, in after tax dollars, approximately $700 a month. That is all going to preparations for when everything goes south. I’m picking up another 20 chicks at the post office tomorrow. Layer chickens. We have two streams on our property and rainfall that rivals Seattle, but it comes in downpours, rather than through a solid week of all day long rain. :)
Fortunately, this is a storm that we can see coming from a long ways off so we are without excuse when it comes.
I think the other side of the storm is going to be at least as much political as economic (of course, the same could be said of the Great Depression itself). The lockdown has presented the Left with a better opportunity than they ever could have dreamed to tear down our political and social institutions and radicalize a large part of the population. The economic damage is bad but will ultimately be temporary if the economy is allowed to recover. The damage to our nationhood may be permanent.

First of all, you can’t trust a thing you read about this.
Secondly, this is a lot less lethal than the Spanish Flu, where people died in a matter of days if not hours after having symptoms and approximately 3% of the infected population died. In addition, remember that there were no treatments for anything in those days...no antibiotics for subsequent bacterial infections and pneumonia, no anti-virals, nothing. The Spanish Flu was also particularly lethal to small children.
The death rate for this virus is somewhere around 1%, max, and dropping steadily as more people are found to have had it without dying or even getting very sick. It rarely affects children or healthy adults or even healthy older people.
If we had stuck to building up our immune systems, making sure public spaces were well-ventilated and clean, intensively worked on treatments, and just gone on with life....we’d probably have even fewer deaths. In total...because suicides are up More than 200%, much of the rioting in the streets is really caused by people at loose ends because of unemployment, no schools, and loss of contact with all their normal social connections, drug and alcohol use has soared, and probably a lot of people are dying of just plain loneliness because they have lost the will to live in such isolation.
Trump needs to quash any talk of this! He also needs to bring on real health experts who can explain for Americans what the covid numbers really mean, and that the fatality rates are going down! These experts also need to explain for Americans the success of Hydroxychloroquine.
We are sick of Trump bragging about how great he and Fauci and Birx get along! We don’t care Mr. President! These two imbeciles have been wrong about EVERYTHING! Please stop praising them! We also do NOT want to hear about ventilators! Set the tone that our nation is moving forward from the hoax of COVID-19!

Back in 1971, when I was in high school, we used to talk about certain political/cultural changes some advocated and my friends would say, “People will never accept that.”.
I said, “I think what you mean is that THIS GENERATION would neve accept that.”

IF (that’s if) polls are accurate, the evil Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan gained 5% approval since April of her dictatorial handling of virus lockdowns and edicts banning behavior. No churches or synagogues, protected abortion places to stay fully open and BLM protests including one she herself attended, etc.
She now is approved of by 67% (Trump by 23 %). The total, blithering idiots in this state would think it’s just peachy to shut down again.
One problem: Unless they are in office jobs with remote computer work allowed, where is their money going to come from? And the taxes to pay for the Dem socialist programs?
Auto plants, construction, roofers, home improvements,restaurants,
dentists, hotels, sports event employees and parking people....They can’t do that by laptop at home. For 4-6 months again? Not to mention some people going bananas with higher abuse and opioid deaths.
