Female commentator was choked up at the end. Made my eyes well up with pride.

I imagine that money has a lot to do with this. I imagine its cheaper to do it this way. And a return trip with just people in a huge craft, just doesnt seem efficient.

I thought they splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico, off Pensacola?
Then I saw this on Yahoo!
“Watch SpaceX’s Crew Dragon splash down in the Atlantic Ocean live as astronauts return to Earth”

Pretty calm looking guys considering they probably have a pants-load in their suits right now.

Typical federal worker, lol. I made so many “heroes” during my career, some never even worked on the projects.

They tried the old dry commentary in earlier flights. Most viewers left.
That style commentary is perhaps left dead - this is private space flight, not NASA bureaucrat-with-stock-up-butt space flight.

Capsules were done because of how the Shuttle and VentureStar burned everyone and because there was no time to get one of those working if we wanted American craft to lift American crews unless you wanted to be at the mercy of the Russians for decades. There are other craft coming and the Brits are working on a true space plane.

The capsule landed, what about the rest of the craft?
