There may be some truth to it, but every election cycle we hear the same shit.
I have no doubt Collins and MurCOWski are more than happy to distance themselves, but if they truly believe the polls, internal or otherwise, they are not in touch with reality on the ground, IMO.

Take Susan Collins for example.She votes correctly some of the time but obviously not all the time.One only needs to look at the filthy,dirty,worthless Rat Party whore who's Governor of Maine to know how a new Rat from Maine would vote.
Collins is clearly the lesser of two evils...the *very* best that we can expect from Maine.
And distancing herself from the President is her only hope of victory.That's how utterly filthy Maine has become.
It stinks to high heavens of course...but the only other option is much,*much* worse.
