One professional rocker has been continuing his social media crusade against Black Lives Matter and, despite his bandmates more liberal leanings, has refused to back off of his support for law enforcement.
Metal and hard rock music outlet Loudwire reported on System of a Down drummer John Dolmayans brave pro-police support. The musician posted a photo of an NYPD uniform patch to his Instagram account on July 24 and captioned the social media post with pro-Blue Lives sentiment. He wrote, Very proud to have received this gift and will always support the men and women who put their lives on the line to help protect society.
In addition to backing the blue, Dolmayan also threw out a scathing rebuke of both the Black Lives Matter organization and the professional American sports leagues that have made weak-minded gestures of solidarity with the openly-Marxist movement.
Dolmayan added, Im also thankful to the NBA, NFL, and MLB for kneeling in solidarity with BLM and showing that major sports franchises much like most corporations are all about the look and keeping the dollars rolling in. Yep, at the very least, we all get a clear picture of whos on our side and who isnt.
Though Dolmayans opinions are opposed to that of his bands leader, singer Serj Tankian, both have agreed to disagree and they still appreciate their friendship and professional relationship. Commenting on Dolmayans posts in June, Tankian touted his love and respect for the drummer, irrespective of our extremely polarized political commentary and difference.
Whoa, civil political discourse among professional musicians in the time of Black Lives Matter. Thats pretty metal, bro.

Not my band. Quit doing that about 16 years ago. Just jams now. Well before the great scamDEMic commenced. One next week in Virginia City NV if you’re in the area though. LOL!
Armenian I think.
The singers name leans more towards Armenian.
Ever listen to Iced Earths Glorious Burden? Full of war history and stories. He also did a solo album called Sons of Liberty.
Yeah your right, for some reason I thought they were Syrian.
Haven’t heard anything from they for a long time.
Back in the 70’s when the punk scene in the US was just getting rollin’, the Ramones divided on politics as well.
Yup. They march to the beat of a different dru... oh hell. That’s not a good analogy.
Yes and yes. The song “Dystopia” is great. Jon plays a “Don’t Tread on Me” guitar.
Rich Ward (Fozzy, former Stuck Mojo who had a complaint filed against them by CAIR for the lyrics to Open Season)
Zoltan Bathory (Five Finger Death Punch)
Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
Bobby Blitz from Overkill admired Reagan and has blasted "guys like Leonardo Decaprio who tell us to wipe our asses with one piece of toilet paper when he has nine fucking houses."

We know how contrary drummers are by nature.
Sully is an incredible drummer. He and the regular drummer have a drum battle in their sets. I dont know their music particularly well, but I watched a concert on TV and it was good.
I always found System of a Down songs as Left leaning. That makes this interesting.
You and me, both. Im sure Im not as old as Im supposed to be.
System of Down!
I saw them live, in concert, while I was in High School in 2004.
What.
A.
Night!
High school in 200??!! I thought i was the youngest freeper... you’ve got me beat.
Iced Earth is a great band.
I may be wrong, but Ive always gotten the impression that metal artists possess more common sense when it comes to politics.
Granted, that is because my birthday is in June, but still. :)
We need to form a group younger freepers.
One of the members of Tesla was interviewed by Eddie Trunk a week or two ago and said that the idea of defunding the police was ridiculous. He said something like, "people hate the police until they need them". He went on to state that he supports law enforcement. It was refreshing to hear.
To add to your list...
Duff McKagen from Guns n Roses.
He was guest DJ’ing on one of the XM channels the other weekend, and he was saying that these kids out there protesting didn’t understand our history, and that the Federalist Papers and the Constitution need to be taught in school, etc.
I half expected him to be a lefty loon like that incoherent idiot Axl Rose.
