"The president got bored with it," David Carney, an adviser to the Texas governor, Greg Abbott, a Republican, said of the pandemic.

Actually, no. Once the (correct) decision was made to let state and local officials deal with their COVID-19 response efforts on their own, it simply wasn't a matter of national concern anymore.

The only role for the Federal government at this point is for the Federal courts to protect the constitutional rights of American citizens who are living under increasingly totalitarian governors and mayors.

Maybe he’s not ignoring, it but he’s stepped back and is letting Fauci, the CDC and tyrannical state governors run with the ball which is a YUGE mistake. Getting the country out of COVID jail is a much higher priority to the Trump supporters I know than it seems to be to Trump.

Let’s see now...

Medical consensus now is that the virus has a mortality rate of 0.3 - 0.4. Which means that it’s about 3 to 4 times higher mortality rate then Type A flu, but that flu was worse in 1918 when we had no significant treatments or defenses against it - all of which are being brought on line extremely quickly with the current problem.

So the mortality rate is dropping, and will drop, and maybe become near zero within the next few months.

We know now that kids get it, get over it, don’t pass it much and move on. All the kids around me tell me they had it back in November and December and only realized what it was when they heard the symptoms described in March and April.

So uh...why’d we shut down the whole damn economy? Why do County Health Officers think they have the right to confine us to our houses?

They were calling it millions of dead. Well, right now, for the entire nation, the toll stands at the level that the idiot County Judge of Dallas County was saying he was going to have - actually, HALF what he claimed, for ONE COUNTY.

So Trump’s right of course. This has cost us trillions, and is going on far too long. A disease with a 99.7% survival rate is no reason to destroy the country. A trillion dollars of medical research would probably have it controlled in a couple of months - not necessarily by a vaccine, but therapies that cut the mortality rate.

And in the end, what really has to happen is that people have to have immunity. So as many people who can tolerate it should get it. People who can’t tolerate it need interventionist care. Not warehousing.

Whether by natural means or medical means we need to become resistant.

The genie should never have been let out of the bottle. In the end, this is the result of mass Chinese immigration into our country and Europe. There is NO concomitant immigration of Westerners into their country - they simply don’t allow it. And who would want to?

Trump did absolutely the right thing at the beginning and shut down air travel from China. Called every name in the book, but it was dead on. Should STAY that way. We get other viruses from China: they bring Communism in their brains, and infect America that way. A double whammy.

Time to innoculate ourselves from all destructive viruses of the Far East. And concentrate on our own economy.

How is Trump ignoring covid? Do these defective RINOs want him to shut down the economy again? That is the only thing Trump isn’t doing and working citizens are NOT in favor of this so it is just the lazy congress and people who refuse to work that are complaining. People are developing immunity to the virus. Numbers of positive cases are being faked. They just want to keep the chaos going. Numerous physicians have come out and said the economy should not be shut down again and kids should go back to school. So how is Trump not handling covid correctly?

More and more every day even the red states are deciding to keep more and more school closed. District by district they are falling like dominoes to the teachers’ unions and mass hysteria.

I can understand Trump not caring about his millions of supporters in CA as there are no electoral votes there for him, but we also have $$$ to send in to his campaign.

I can tell you I’m ready to send him $$$ if the fed gov’t manages to do something to get schools open for my kids. (Not just mine—but all American kids, who I care about.)

Kaleigh McEnany said the other day that reopening the schools is a huge priority to POTUS. If so it sure has been hard to tell. This is Pence’s trainwreck but it’s abundantly clear that if he does not want to stagger into the election with the country mostly shut-down Trump needs to take the bull by the horns, and soon.

“NYT wants so badly for Trump to make an authoritarian move on states...They clearly can’t see that he has, by leaving decisions to the states, been 3 moves ahead of them.”

absolutely correct ... Trump’s left it up to the governor’s of the states, so ALL actual ire on the ground has been and will continue to be directed at the governors ...

Yes but the problem is now is that almost all the red AND blue state governors are bowing to the teachers’ unions and/or to fear and mass hysteria (moms and teachers—all female remember—and I’m a female) and more and more districts are not even allowing the option of hybrid (two days as week). Just closed. Indefinitely. It’s shocking.

Meanwhile 22 European nations and all of Asia are educating their children as we speak. They all reopened schools fine. Israel had a problem with spread but they packed in kids with a lot of AC (no fresh air).

CA is keeping the Christian and private schools shut down too. Maybe Trump would become concerned once Barron’s school remains shut down. Does he want Barron to continue to have no sports, no friends, no prom, no graduation, and only “virtual” “distance learning” which frankly sucks?

“They clearly can’t see that he has, by leaving decisions to the states, been 3 moves ahead of them.”

How? By letting people in battleground states that he needs to win sink into an increasingly foul mood? By letting his supporters feel that he's abandoned them to twist in the breeze at the hands of COVID Nazi Governors?

VP Pence? You mean the guy in charge of the COVID-19 task force? Yeah, that's odd the governor would have to deal with HIM, and not the President.

This is just not the way things should go. If I have a problem with an Amazon package delivery I get to speak to Jeff Bezos. Oh wait, I don’t.

‘I’m hopeful this week there will be some sort of federal movement toward school reopenings.’

nothing will happen in any state without the teachers unions approval; they have been given immense power, and the parents, especially will side with them every time...

I know the power of the teachers’ unions—some parents are waking up now but not many. Many moms fear the virus irrationally too.

But I moved my soph into a private Christian school partly to get away from that—but the CA governor has closed private schools too.

‘Many moms fear the virus irrationally too.’

you have identified the problem; our hyper feminized society has allowed fear and timidity to rule the issues; hence the attraction to strong arming bureaucrats telling us what to do...go to a supermarket without a mask (or wearing one, but with nostrils free to breathe); if you get through the front door, I guarantee that before you get out a manager will accost you and tell you there are complaints about you...and I can guarantee that at least 90% of them are from females...

until women can emerge from this stupefying web they’ve woven, we all will continue to be ensnared in their fear...

And I think it’s not so much that the federal govt should try to FORCE schools to reopen across the country.

But rather this: require schools to offer to option to parents of either in person 5 days, or 2 day hybrid (much cheaper to achieve 4-6 feet between desks if classes are split in half) with 2-3 days remote/distance learning. And yes some $$ to help there. Maybe some PPP loans.

That way the teachers and parents who desire some “boots on the ground” in classrooms can get that, while those teachers and parents who are still afraid can stick with remote.

Revenge against the satanic media comes 11/02/20.

Partner, the Satanic MSM and the DemonRat party are in cahoots with this virus.

The MSM will spout off stuff against our President Trump and President Trump will not let the MSM get away with the garbage that is spouted out at President Trump and Thank God.

Why hasn't the MSM said anything about the last 50 straight days that America's Cities have been literally burning the past 50 straight days by the Communist Thugs of BLM and Antifa.

The MSM has just stood by and put their heads in their posterior since they do want want to see the burning and carnage that is taking place in our cities.

Sorus is also behind the Communist Thugs BLM and Antifa since he have them 32 million dollars this year.

With friends like George Soros who needs enemies.

I truly don’t understand why any man would vote for a Dem. Now that sports is suspended and all those backwards-baseball-cap wearing men have nothing else to do, perhaps they can turn their attention to the voting booth and start voting their own interests.

We need more men to vote to counteract the female vote. And I say this as a female. I’d give up my right to vote if every other woman was prohibited too. And I have other conservative women friends who say the same. (It’s fun to shock people at parties by declaring that.)

Men need to start voting their interests because their interests are in the best interests of the nation.
