I heard someone took the Rite Aid swab test-—turned out they’re distantly related to Elizabeth Warren and a Viking guy who came over before Columbus. (Just a joke)
I really imagine that sticking a swab way up into your nostrils can harm you. Am I wrong?
Well, the antibody test I would consider. The virus test is less than worthless. Covid-free this morning does not equal Covid-free this evening, so its value is questionable at best, misleading at worst.
Even if the test was painless it could only provide a false sense of security.

Bad idea. A positive result here in KY could result in you and everyone you’ve been in contact with for the last 20 years being fitted in ankle monitors and placed under house arrest for two weeks. No way.
I will never submit to the test unless I have symptoms
Not because of the discomfort but because I do not want to be on some government list.

No, it doesn’t.
It tells you that you have RNA from the virus in your nose. And before you get excited - remember, they recover DNA from Egyptian mummies and 12,000 year old mammoths from under the ice.
The SARS CoV 2 PCR is very, very good for diagnosis in a patient with symptoms in the context of a community epidemic.
The meaning of a positive PCR in someone with no symptoms and who does not develop symptoms in 14 days is completely unclear.
What’s the point? As if a negative result alerts the whole world that you don’t need to wear a mask and then you wouldn’t have to wear one anywhere? Because, you know, the mask is for others’ protection, not yours, since protecting others is your problem now, not theirs. Jeez...

I had it when admitted to the hospital. Felt like they were going to pull my left eyeball out, and the roof of my head was coming off! Maybe just sensitive sinuses. But was shocked by the pain. Not one to use pain meds.
Lol. Testing for decades. When the snotty kids start back to school all of the tests dectect any related coronavirus as COVID. Its ridiculous. Bilateral pneumonia is the true deadly covid 19. All others are just related. Now you know why positive people don’t have antibodies. They has a different coronavirus.

Time for the 1st annual FR “is it BS?”test. Start swabing things like apple juice, sour cream, pickel brine, give them phony names and send it in for testing. I’ll bet they will all come back positive!
I took the Rite Aid test about 10 days ago. At my site, you just drive up to the Pharmacy window, they give you a swab, and you swipe the inside of both nostrils in a circular motion about 10 times and put it back in the tube and hand it back. My result was negative. I had no symptoms but wanted to test after flying by plane to visit elderly parents. It’s not an antibody test, it’s a test if you are currently infected.
