Trump may intervene in case of St. Louis couple wielding guns at protesters, Missouri governor said

The governor of Missouri says President Trump has promised to "do everything he could within his powers" to shield a St. Louis couple who wielded guns at protesters in their gated community from prosecution, even as an attorney for the client says charges are imminent.

Gov. Mike Parson said he spoke to Trump Tuesday and was reassured that the president-- who previously has retweeted a photo of the couple, Mark and Patricia McCloskey holding up guns in front of their house in the June 28 incident--"understands the situation in Missouri."

"He understands the situation in St. Louis and how out of control it is for a prosecutor to let violent criminals off and not do their job and try to attack law-abiding citizens," Parson said at a press conference.

"The conversation I had with the President, said that he would do everything he could within his powers to help with this situation," Parson added.

Parson and Trump's conversation comes days after police served a search warrant at the McCloskey's home in the upscale Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, in the same area where the city's Democratic mayor, Lyda Krewson, lives.

Nearly 500 protesters marching for racial equality and against police brutality were headed towards Krewson's residence during the June 28 incident, after she read off the names and addresses of individuals petitioning to defund the police. Mark and Patricia McCloskey came out of their house, brandished their guns, and demanded the protesters leave because they were trespassing. The couple later told Fox News' Sean Hannity that they were fearful that the protesters would "kill us" and "burn down the house."

This is the right move!

I want to know what laws are they breaking? What is this prosecutor charging them with? I thought it was legal to bear arms. I thought that state allowed you to protect your property? Does anyone know what they could possibly charge them with? Why was confiscating their guns allowed? What were the grounds for that? Is there any rule they broke? Or is it just a rogue prosecutor?

DA Kim Gardner is a Soros-owned puppet. I checked the campaign disclosures. She got $100s of thousands from a Soros group in DC.

The couple in question is a pair of personal injury lawyers. Lawyers are often, but not always liberal. Does anyone know how they lean? (Sure, I could go to the past political contributions site, but that requires a modicum of effort.)

The irony here would be if they were liberals who got mugged (or almost mugged, to be more precised) by BLM leftists.

Gov. Parsons is an empty suit. Derail him at his next election.

The ONLY problem I see from what did was leveling his rifle and she pointing her handgun at the protester/rioters...I think maybe he should’ve held his AR at “port arms” position and she could’ve pointed the pistol upward...

That’s only thing I can see they could be charged with...

Since it would appear that anything they would be charged with at this point would be alleged violations of Missouri State Law, why can’t the Governor just issue a blanket pardon for any alleged crimes relative to that incident? I’m assuming the Governor has that power in the State of MO?

She’s very much a Soros, rogue prosecutor who is claiming the couple were not under threat and I assume the charge would be brandishing weapons.
But they of course were very clearly in fear of their lives and the mob had invaded private property.
MO has a castle doctrine law - I don’t think you have to be inside your house to defend your property.

They haven't been charged with anything yet but speculation is that unlawful use of a weapon is the most likely.

Most likely charge will be a felony. Unlawfully pointing a firearm. If you are going to point it, you better kill what its pointed at.

“What is this prosecutor charging them with? “

She will come up with something. She went after newly-elected Governor Greitens charging him with sexual abuse of his hairdresser. The evidence was a phone call with her husband in which she claimed Greitens took pictures of her tied up or in handcuffs. But the picture has never been found or produced. When this charge seemed to be foundering she charged Greitens with an election violation the day before the statute of limitations went into effect.

He resigned his office in exchange for dropping of the two charges. She is now under investigation for serious irregularities in her cases against Greitens. Of course she claims the charges are ‘racist’. She might well win reelection.

Even in conservative states like MO, you have liberal cities who elect prosecutors who make it their business to go after conservatives elected to statewide office.

Nope, he already had criminal trespass, destruction of property, and direct physical harm threat from ARMED “protestors”. They displayed their weapons...

He had FULL legal right to not only point his weapons but fire at the armed threatening “protestors”.

He and his wife showed way more restraint then I would have...

Racketeering, support of terrorism and violation of interstate commerce if the lawyer had out of state clients.
