The ONLY problem I see from what did was leveling his rifle and she pointing her handgun at the protester/rioters...I think maybe he should’ve held his AR at “port arms” position and she could’ve pointed the pistol upward...

Most likely charge will be a felony. Unlawfully pointing a firearm. If you are going to point it, you better kill what its pointed at.

Nope, he already had criminal trespass, destruction of property, and direct physical harm threat from ARMED “protestors”. They displayed their weapons...
He had FULL legal right to not only point his weapons but fire at the armed threatening “protestors”.
He and his wife showed way more restraint then I would have...
That's a big potential problem. Or defend their home from the inside, or from cover. Perhaps not display their weapons unless someone was well on their property, rather than what I assume was a commonly owned road.
