Damage from wide-spread flooding in China may have cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Hubei province, which was badly affected by the coronavirus outbreak, has seen some of the worst flooding around the Yangtze.
The Yangtze River region saw its second-highest day of rainfall in over 50 years, authorities said Monday as deadly flooding affected much of China.
Some 28,000 homes have been damaged and 141 people have died or are missing since the floods began last month.
Most of mainland China is affected, including vast swathes of western areas like Tibet and Xinjiang.

If there is as much deformation as shown in those pics the dam needs to be drained. Now.
The youtube video shows only two flood gates open where previously there were 4 or 5 so the rising water must have abated there
Wuhan is way downstream of the dam. Probably flooded because they opened the dam floodgates all the way, to save the dam.
Both but there are many smaller dams above Three Gorges. With monsoon rains continuing unabated across China, should one of the higher dams fail, a domino effect could result along the entire Yangtze River.
I wonder how long it will take our pathetic media to try to blame a dam collapse on Trump’s decision to move supply chains home . . . you KNOW it will be trial-ballooned at least!
Grin :)
Both sides and ALL flood gates on Three Gorges are open
Concrete doesn't bend like that without fracturing. Therefore the doformations in the image are due to distortions caused by the imaging system.

Isn’t a part of the big global warming hoax the meme that there’ll be widespread drought?
More here at Fox.
I’ve been watching the flooding for several weeks now- the rains are unusually early and intense. Three Gorges failing would be unimaginable.

We may actually be seeing China go the way the USSR did when everything started going to hell in a handbasket there.
Shame the Hong Kong folks can’t coordinate with mainland folks to expedite the demise.
Send I. The UN and the WHO. They will solve the China Rains problem
Thanks for the chart.
It’s a LONG way to the sea.

"This is apparently a video of the mountain city of #Chongqing, #China (have yet to verify this), now flooding because of torrential rains. "notable Chinese hydrologist Wang Weiluo (王維洛)" questions safety of #ThreeGorgesDam alongside (see earlier tweet)"
Mind you, the person with the camera is looking down at this waterfall on the main street.
