The really big story is whether or not 3-Gorges will give way and kill millions.

So far, it is holding.

From what I hear, the dam is shifting about but that is the way it was designed. Who knows the truth at this point.

Yep. Wuhan, the city is 11 million and the province is 60 million. 11 Million isn’t chicken feed and it IS bigger than NYC in population. NYC entirely being under some water would be catastrophic.

I now wonder why dams systems are not built with upstream particulate collectors that can be perhaps seasonally cleaned out. I’m not aware of any dams that have such structures upstream.

I'm absolutely ASTONISHED how little coverage this is getting here. Wuhan is already flooded and we all know that Corona was found in their SEWAGE, so God only knows what these floods could cause.

I believe it's flooding both upstream and downstream of the dam. The dam showed deformations last year.

China insists everything is ok. Hopefully, they're correct.

If there is a much deformation as shown in those pics the dam needs to be drained. Now.
