Damage from wide-spread flooding in China may have cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Hubei province, which was badly affected by the coronavirus outbreak, has seen some of the worst flooding around the Yangtze.
The Yangtze River region saw its second-highest day of rainfall in over 50 years, authorities said Monday as deadly flooding affected much of China.
Some 28,000 homes have been damaged and 141 people have died or are missing since the floods began last month.
Most of mainland China is affected, including vast swathes of western areas like Tibet and Xinjiang.

Hoping the “Wuhan has 7 times NYC’s population” you’re talking about is a Province.
No city in this great big World has a population 7 times NYC.
Or it discredits the rest of the spiel...
Sounds like we need to hire Charlie Brown’s teacher to translate.
I might be mistaken, but I think this happened on Sunday.

A coworkers parents live in Wuhan
Heck, move the survivors into those huge, brand new...EMPTY...cities.
Yep. Wuhan, the city is 11 million and the province is 60 million. 11 Million isn’t chicken feed and it IS bigger than NYC in population. NYC entirely being under some water would be catastrophic.
RE: Wonna wonna wonna wonna wonna wonna wonna - anyone know what this means?

I now wonder why dams systems are not built with upstream particulate collectors that can be perhaps seasonally cleaned out. I’m not aware of any dams that have such structures upstream.
Dam...
That is my fear. Xi and the CCP may be more inclined to resort to war in an attempt to redirect the country’s attention elsewhere (as though that’s possible).
Just like during the cold war American media never reported anything bad happening inside the Soviet Union.
Both
Thanks.
Sounds like a problem...
‘How long can you tread water?’
China insists everything is ok. Hopefully, they're correct.
If there is a much deformation as shown in those pics the dam needs to be drained. Now.
