Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions attacked his July 14 GOP runoff opponent for being wrong on immigration, an issue that he calls one of the most important issues Congress is faced with as it wrangles with other concerns such as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and police reform.
(Im not saying) that its No. 1, but its right up there, said Sessions during a news conference Monday in Mobile. We have 11 million people here unlawfully. In some years, weve had 11 million people arrested at the (U.S.-Mexico) border. If we do this right, the number of attempts for entering illegally will plummet.

How many years have we been using that 11 million figure for illegal immigrants?
I think it has been at least 20 years. Hard to imagine no new ones have arrived since then.
Sessions was a lousy AG having no understanding of the Politics involved, but he was and would be a great Senator.
The last time he ran for Reelection the Rats didn’t even field a Candidate.
His opponent is a RINO and will end up being a Southern Romney IF he beats the Rat.
I think POTUS Trump should have stayed out of this.
If I remember correctly, before covid19, there was a big shortage of IT workers in this country.
He’s a traitor. Mueller’s bitch.
Sessions acting like Linda Graham.
Right one day and wrong every other day.
Voters should ignore him.
Bingo!
Wife and I are about to leave to vote. Going to chalk 2 votes up for Tuberville. Sessions needs to retire. Hope Tubby doesn’t disappoint. The main thing is getting Jones out in Nov.
H1B is legal immigration. Not the same as illegal immigration. I like that we have stopped accepting H1B for the rest of the year. But, don’t confuse legal and illegal
H1B Indian legal immigration is hundreds of times more dangerous to the American middle class than illegal immigration can ever be. 5 million underemployed and unemployed American STEM workers agree with me.
We have no idea how he will vote when the Democrats and MSM start leaning on him.
Sessions screwed up royally as AG, but I never doubted we could trust him with a Senate vote.
I am 50-50 on this election, and I will feel uneasy no matter which candidate wins.
Sessions belongs at the business end of a rope. He’s a friggen traitor. Didn’t understand the politics? Please.
At least we’re almost assured of getting Jones out... but neither of our candidates today is flawless by any measure.
Your memory is failing then.
Only Indian IT companies and organizations report there is a shortage of IT workers in the US in order to bring in more Indians. If you are an American, you cant get even an entry-level position in industry. It is fully dominated by racist Indians.
Just need someone to take that seat back in November. The balance of the Senate will probably hang on it.
He took the AG position without a word to President Trump that he would recuse himself {and open up the USA for three years of misery}.
I would vote for the devil before I ever voted for that slimy, smarmy little prick.
Jeff Sessions is a short version of mittens, both are back stabbers, they just used different knives.
I don't know a thing about Tuberville but I do know one thing, he ain't Sessions.
H1B is legal immigration. Not the same as illegal immigration
Its the same in taking jobs from Americans.
He was in DC how many years? A little late to the dance.. I’d say.
So, we disagree.
He should have never left the Senate.
The way he was attacked by his former Rat Senate Colleagues during his Confirmation Hearings showed me he was an effective advocate for the Conservative wing of the Republican Party.
I’m not sure his GOP Opponent would emulate that if Elected. More likely his Rat Colleagues will embrace him like they do Romney.
Just my $.02. Your mileage may vary, and it obviously does.
Was Sessions ever on record saying we need to bring in 400,000 Indians into the US to take American jobs? Tuberville was.
Sessions is a total dirt bag traitor. But at least he never advocated for the replacement of American workers with Indians.
And Im a one issue guy. Indian and Communist Chinese H1B/H4EAD/OPTs have got to be forced out of the US
H1B is legal immigration. Not the same as illegal immigration. I like that we have stopped accepting H1B for the rest of the year. But, don’t confuse legal and illegal immigration.
A point that is completely lost here on FR. Completely lost.
The rub is that there are some companies that have used the H1B process to undercut American workers - primarily in the tech industry. I don’t think any of us support that.
I heard Kudlow talking about this after he joined the administration and he made some good points in that the plan for the administration was to grow the economy to the point that wages would rise and the skilled workers would have more competition for their services. He believed that it would fix itself in a booming economy and there is anecdotal information that he might have been right before Covid.
This issue will not go away, but I wish more people understood it better and did not lump it with low-skilled immigration. In a fast growing economy it can be a plus, but in a recession or period of job loss it is a curse to American workers.
As I try to look at it objectively I think my opinion is that we need to reach peak employment in a field before we allow companies to use H1B’s because otherwise we will drive wages down and that sucks. Based on this, I think there needs to be far more scrutiny on these lest we screw over American workers.
This is stupid, just based on the numbers. There are about 580,000 H1b visa holders. When the visa expires, or job goes away they go home. They pay taxes. There are at least 10 million illegal immigrants, causing rampant crime, disease, and sucking up public resources. If you could make one of the two go away, only a fool would choose h1bs.
