BOTHELL, Wash. (KOMO) A Bothell police officer was killed and a second one was wounded during a Monday night traffic stop that turned into a gun battle with the driver, authorities said. The suspect was later arrested after an hours-long manhunt. The surviving police officer was rushed for treatment to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where the officer was said to be in stable condition. Information about the extent of the second officer's injury was pending. Investigators have also not identified the officers as of early Tuesday.
The incident began around 9:40 p.m. when Bothell officers tried to pull over a driver heading west on SR 522, according to Aaron Snell with Everett Police, which is among the agencies now investigating the shooting. After a short chase, the fleeing driver struck a pedestrian and crashed through a center median in the 10300 block of Woodinville Drive, Snell said.
At that point, gunfire was exchanged as the driver got out and ran from the car, Snell said. Backup officers arrived at the scene to find one officer had died and a second one was wounded. He was rushed to Harborview along with the pedestrian who was struck, Snell said. The extent of the pedestrian's injuries were not given either. A manhunt ensued as several police agencies and police dogs swarmed the area looking for their suspect. He was located around 3:20 a.m. hiding on a rooftop and arrested without further incident.
Bothell police Capt. Mike Johnson said it was the first time in at least 25 years that a Bothell officer was killed in the line of duty. "As you can imagine, this is the most horrific thing police officers can deal with," Johnson said. "When these types of events happen, police officers all want to help out and pitch inso thankful for all their help." Bothell Councilman Mason Thompson said he was "heartbroken" about the incident in a social media post.
Since no ethnicity was mentioned in the story, guess which one it was?
Another feral savage.
Im shocked.
Not.

the high risk group?
He looks just like one of those peaceful protesters.
BOTHELL, Wash. (KOMO)
Wash. First thing I look for. Likely near Seattle. All I need to know. Moving on
It was a mostly peaceful shooting.
Slow? Poor Training?
Slow? Poor Training?
Fear of being charged with murder most likely.

I'm guessing that, because of the political climate, especially in WA, they are much more hesitant to even shoot back at Black suspects.
It does make you wonder if the LEO have the mindset now that makes them stop and think about using deadly force instead of instinctively using deadly force. With what has been described with this event, with the suspect eluding the police and striking the person on the scooter, lethal force would have been a justifiable FIRST action.
By the way, where are those sons of bitches whining about police brutality when a white police officer shoots a black suspect, but say nothing when the same POS suspect shoots and kills a white police officer????
Will he be released b/c of “no cash bail”?
Or will that large pool of anti-cop celebrity money help get him out and/or defend him b/c he was a victim of racist police?
Another Obama son!
The governor, the democrat party, and Biden himself have blood on their hands, again.
Without knowing all the particulars, a 9mm sidearm is less than ideal for a shootout involving a motor vehicle. A 12 gauge semi-automatic or a carbine of 10mm or .45 caliber would be a better option.
big surprise..
Slow? Poor Training?
Possibly over training thus creating the mindset of doubt.
With the passage of the I 940, in late 2018, it changed the entire thought process of police going through this training. The measure means that prosecutors will no longer have to prove law-enforcement officers acted with evil intent or so-called malice when considering whether to file criminal charges such as manslaughter. Washington is the only state with such restrictive language.
I-940 also requires de-escalation and mental-health training for police; requires officers to administer first aid to a victim of deadly force; and requires independent investigations into the use of deadly force. If it is driven into the minds of a police person of the severity of the use of deadly force, it stands to reason that how it is going to be applied is preordained as the blame will be automatic just by using it. And this is what these officers are facing and trained for today after a year and a half....the new breed.
You don’t need to fix something unless it is broke. And applying a knee jerk reaction to a problem by indicating an automatic questionability of every cop using it, it is going to change a lot of minds as to it’s use in the field. These deaths could very well have been caused by the state getting into something that already had an answer to it. There will always be problems or bad cops out there. But this is the liberal approach. And it further aids in the current reaction to police in
Seattle. So with this backdrop, it is being used as an anti-police tool across the nation and every cop is the enemy.
The bill was defeated in 22 of the 38 counties in the state. But as usual, the population size of the Seattle area, especially ultra liberal King County, got it voted in. And this was a bill that was flawed but the liberals got it in by a decision of the State Supreme Court saying the bill must be put on the ballot as is. The legislature said they would change it later. Sounds like Obamacare doesn’t it? They didn’t.

The blame lies with the left.
Another black killer.
Jeez... I’m shocked! /s
