Subway announced Wednesday it is banning the open carry of firearms in restaurants across the nation.
WRAL reports the ban applies even in states where open carry is legal.
Guns.com notes Subways firearm policy now says the restaurant chain requests guests (other than authorized law enforcement) refrain from openly displaying firearms inside restaurants even in states where open carry is permitted.

so concealed carry is still ok
asking for a friend
Never understood “open carry”. Why would you want to?
Why unnecessarily “trigger” people? Why let any potential attackers KNOW ahead of time that you were armed?
Makes zero sense to me.
I haven’t eaten at McDonald’s since they went anti gun.
How bout a SUB machine gun?
In the thirty’s in Germany scared businesses jumped on the Hitler bandwagon. How did that work out?
Well, having a kiddie porn pervert as their national spokesman for 15 years gave them the moral high ground, I suppose.
i dont eat there, but i appreciate them outing tgemselves so i can consciously avoid them
But subway accepts EBT/welfare cards...
Does anyone still dine there?
Dine ? Really its a crappy samich place
I used to work at a regional place called Silver Mine Subs. A lot of our delivery customers were businesses right next to a Subway.
I have no objection to open carry where it’s legal. However, it seems an easy way to get into an unexpected encounter with a crazy where you can’t control the event and have no “decision space” to determine how to handle it.
I am too old and slow to risk getting into a fight.
Thats always been my thought too
Amen
I’m hard-pressed to think of a national restaurant chain that actually posts proper 30.06 or 30.07 signs, even here in Houston. Just “Gun Buster” signs or Buffalo Wild Wing’s “BANS Guns on these Premises” sign.
I always just assume that businesses that put signs like that up know they are ineffective and are intentionally giving me tacit permission to carry while putting the hoplophobes at ease.
I wonder if they will put up the legal notice in TX. Cant just put up sign that guns aren’t allowed. 3006 for concealed, 3007 for open carry. The signs sorta fill any door glass...
Oh no! Where will I go to get mediocre subs made with old ingredients with flies buzzing around them?!
At least they didn’t also ban concealed carry. I’m not a huge fan of open carry to begin with, just as a personal preference for myself. Draws too much attention.
Were does it say no guns allowed in a Subway?
My wife and I used to live in Tulsa. It had been a solid middle to upper middle class neighborhood but was just starting to decline.
There was a sub place called “Little Lannies” within walking distance on 11th st. They made the best roast beef subs. We would treat ourselves to one around once a month.
They were pretty greasy tho.
I have never wanted to carry openly but think they are a good law if for nothing else than charging someone who inadvertently lets their concealed one show.
Wonder why they are so fearful?

Well, there are a lot of ways to mess up a sandwich order, and you know how short tempered people are these days
Now that we know they prefer us defenseless, I wouldnt trust their food, either.
Subway is now dead to me.
(They were never as good as their competition, anyway.)
