California seemed to do everything right. So why are COVID-19 cases surging?

Recent orders by California’s governor to halt indoor dining in many counties may not impact the Blue Plate Oysterette much. At the Santa Monica seafood eatery, diners lately have been ordering their oysters or king crab legs at an outdoor counter – housed in a vintage VW bus – and feasting at sidewalk tables or across the street overlooking the cliff-side promenade.

Nonetheless, owner Jen Rush has sharp views about Gov. Gavin Newsom’s decision to close indoor spaces such as restaurants, museums, and movie theaters for at least three weeks because of a surge in COVID-19 cases. Add to that beach closures over the July Fourth holiday weekend.

Let's stop believing the politicians' nonsense. Protests spread the disease. California had protests in at least 32 cities. And many protesters didn't have full face coverage the entire time.

And yet the death rate is flat.

Why has stopping the spread Become the goal? Because the fatality rate has plummeted.

Let stick to the plan of f slowing the spread which means that the Corona will spread until mass immunity is gained.

The death rate is flat because the protesters are younger and less vulnerable to serious symptoms.

Seems like there is a lot of cherry-picking going on. For the last couple of days, people have been claiming the deaths are way down, so we’re on the downside of the virus curve. And yet California reported the second most daily deaths yesterday since the start of the pandemic. Why isn’t that information important to note? Why are we supposed to ignore that yet accept what was reported the few days prior?

The same reason they win elections....fraud.

California reported the second most daily deaths yesterday since the start of the pandemic. Why isn’t that information important to note?

Because it's a lie, they're cooking the books...fake test results

Why are we supposed to ignore that yet accept what was reported the few days prior?

Because they think we're stupid....and in many cases....they're right. (see: mask wearers)

They keep finding boxes of positive test results in a car trunk or a closet.

Also, the rise in California is due to people with the virus in Mexico crossing the border! Duh!

California does NOTHING right. Note the potholes in the roads of the Once-Golden State! Note the debt-suffocating economy! Note the insane politics! Note the madness!

There may be something to that, actually. Health departments embargoing release of positive case counts until needed.

Also, are positive antibody tests being included in current case numbers?

Are presumed positives, contacts of same being included?

Has testing increased?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Is it ‘spreading’, or are the numbers now more accurate because of testing?

What does protestors have to do with anything? Were they the only ones infected/tested?

The governor of California is relying on the same faulty measurements of cases and their seriousness as the governors of Texas, Ohio, NJ, etc.

Exactly! The whole response to this thing was nuts. All we needed to do was protect those in retirement facilities and we’d be fine. Not zero deaths, but nothing beyond all the other stuff that occasionally kills people.

Life is risk and death is certain.

But according to the screams, 150,000 deaths out of 330 million population is unacceptable.
