Kanye West's plan to run for president in November as an independent is already destined for failure as he has missed deadlines to add his name to the presidential ballot in six states.
Of the 538 Electoral College votes total, West would already be missing out on 102 of those votes if he were to successfully make his way onto the ballot in other states as the registration date has passed for North Carolina, Texas, New York, Maine, New Mexico and Indiana.
The 43-year-old rapper announced Saturday night he was running for president in November, even though he vowed in December 2016 after Donald Trump won

In our elections, a voter can write in anybody they choose.
I’m guessing he already knew that.
Kanye is not running for president.
And if he did he would not be stealing any votes from Trump
I am disappointed with some recent actions but he still one of very few to have the courage to say some of the things he has. And his Christian music is a lot better than his old garbage. At least in words. I don’t like the music behind either of them instrumentally
Wouldn't it be something if there was a big effort for people to write-in whoever they wanted. I'm sure the progressives would embrace that a great deal more than people with brains.
Only 43 states allow write-in for POTUS.
he is practicing for 2024
Of course he knew he was too late.
He is an attention whore and the son-in-law of the stunt queen of attention whores, Kris Kardashian Jenner.
The family that knows no shame knows how to play the media.
He fits right in.

He is running; but much on the Left are too stupid to know why he is running.
I don’t know his platform and I’m too lazy to look it up :-)
If he is running I am disappointed that he has decided to stand against Trump. unless he knows he will not get many votes and is trying to make some kind of statement. I don’t know.
Why does everybody who is rich think they can run for president lately :-)
I’m exaggerating of course but still

No, he’s standing with PDJT to pull black votes from Biden who can’t or won’t vote for PDJT, and to practice running for 2024.
Probably filed late on purpose. This was just to start ginning up the buzz for 2024.
If that’s the case then good.
I will do some reading later. Maybe a few articles
Kanye can run on the Green Party line. The GP was registered in states with 305 EVs in April 2020. Their convention is in July.
As long as he makes it in PA and FL it’s fine.
Yes, but more important, he's running in 2020 to draw votes away from the Democrats and help ensure that President Trump is re-elected. Then when he runs in 2024, he'll look for an endorsement from Trump.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
It’s Kanye, he’s practising for 3 hours from now when he’ll have changed his mind again.
How can it be too late if the Democrats have not yet selected Biden?
He isnt their candidate until the convention.
The media: Missing the Point Since 1775
Yes, you could "write in" a candidate but many of those ballots are tossed because most people have terrible penmanship and it is hard for others to read it. If the write-in name is hard to read, it's tossed out.
So the solution for serious write-in candidates is to distribute stickers to their supporters that they can affix to their ballots.
