A video posted on Chinese microblogging website Weibo by the Russian embassy of a party held today to celebrate the 160th anniversary of Vladivostok sparked online outrage with Chinese diplomats, journalists and users referring to the city by its old name Haishenwai.
Vladivostok which once used to be part of Chinas Qing dynasty and was known as Haishenwai was annexed by the Russian empire in 1860 after Chinas defeat by the British and the French in the Second Opium war.
Reacting to Russian embassys tweet, Shen Shiwei, a journalist working with the state-owned broadcaster CGTN, tweeted: This tweet of #Russian embassy to #China isnt so welcome on Weibo. The history of Vladivostok (literally 'Ruler of the East') is from 1860 when Russia built a military harbor. But the city was Haishenwai as Chinese land, before Russia annexed it via unequal Treaty of Beijing.

'In the past, Vladivostok was our Haishenwai' Zhang Heqing, a Chinese diplomat currently posted in the embassy in Pakistan said, Isnt this what in the past was our Haishenwai?
Today we can only endure, but the Chinese people will remember, and one generation after another will continue to remember! and another wrote, We must believe that this ancestral land will return home in the future! SCMP quoted one Weibo user as saying.
Sino-Soviet border conflict had brought the two Communist nations at the brink of war when in March 1969; PLA troops ambushed Soviet border guards on Zhenbao Island.
While Chinese sources claimed that 58 Soviets soldiers died including a senior colonel, the Soviet sources said that 248 Chinese troops were killed on the island.
China claims Bhutan's Trashigang district After claiming Indias Galwan Valley, China also opened a new border dispute with Bhutan.
At a virtual meeting of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) held in the first week of June, Beijing objected to the grant for Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary (SWS) in Bhutans Trashigang district calling the area disputed.
Objecting to Chinas statement, Bhutan later issued a formal letter to the GEF council urging the GEF council to purge all references of Chinas baseless claims from Councils documents.
It would be a good thing, possibly, if Russia Nd the PRC became active enemies.
Once upon a time there was only one country on earth - China. Over the years various provinces broke away from the motherland, illegally, and other nations were formed : Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea, the United States, Congo, Australia, Tuvalu.. to name but a few. Some day these illegal breakaway provinces - these renegade so called nations - will be reunited, peacefully or otherwise, with the mainland and China will be one again.
The “middle” kingdom
The “central” kingdom
“Free Tibet”...
Unequal treaties are what you get when you lose a war.
The irony here is interesting. Russia/USSR spent a lot of time last century and this trying to reclaim lost territoryFinland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and more recently Crimea, Ukraine, Moldova. The fact that China rememberskarma.
China is asking India, Nepal and Bhutan to donate border space because it needs an unrestricted corridor to the Bay of Bengal to ensure their ability to deliver goods and services to Africa and South America.
I think the russians are calculatedly egging on the CHinese to go kinetic and violent against them and India, so that they can take it back over with the help of India, much like Hitler was their ice breaker. RUssia would then own South Asia, a bigger and maybe easier prize than prying EUrope from the US.
Do you always stutter when you type?
J/K!

.
China thinking to expand in that direction ??

Yeah whatever happened to Tibet? Used to be the lefts thing until Trump got here. Poor little Tibetans left out now from social justice
Just like everywhere in the US is an Indian burial ground, all of Asia used to be part of China.
Ping.
