Volo Auto Museum director, Brian Grams says the General Lee display is not going anywhere.
The display features the last surviving 1969 Dodge Charger from the first season of the "Dukes of Hazzard" television show, The Daily Herald reports.
Grams says the vehicle is a symbol of television history. This comes as Confederate flags and statues are being taken down across the country.
"We feel the car is part of history, and people love it," Grams said. "We've got people of all races and nationalities that remember the TV show and aren't offended by it whatsoever. It's a piece of history and it's in a museum."
Grams says he has not received a complaint about the General Lee but instead has received supportive words from people who appreciate the museum not being swayed by public opinion.

“The Volo Auto Museum acquired its General Lee in 2005, upgrading from previous replicas it owned. Grams said a similar issue surrounding the car’s Confederate flag image arose a few years ago when he tried to purchase another General Lee from professional golfer Bubba Watson, who planned on painting over the flag. Watson confirmed last month that he still owns the car, but the flag has been removed.”

That place is still open?
Last time I was in there was the mid 90’s. They had an orginal Batmobile. And the Munsters coffin car. Good on them for not caving to the mob of woke Karens.

What’s the point of owning a “General Lee” from Dukes if you’ve removed the flag?

Better protect it from vandalism. Lefty hatred runs deep. Keying of the paint job & ice picks in the tires are only the obvious dangers. Constant vigilance may not even protect it. Surround it with plexiglass.

Saw one of the General Lee’s at a HUGE car museum in Seattle...complete with the battle flag on top. Can’t remember the name of the museum. I think the tour guide said there had been a hundred or two of the same vehicle.

There is a Northern example of the Charger. Blue in color with US flag on the roof #1 on the door and General Grant lettered on the roof.
