A former NFL safety took a big step Tuesday night toward a whole new career.
Burgess Owens, who played from 1973-1982 for the New York Jets and the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders, won Utahs Republican primary for a U.S. House seat, according to The Associated Press.

A winnable district. Looking forward to seeing his campaign progress.
He’s a good man
Good onya, Burgess!
That is awesome.
YEAH!! STAY CONSERVATIVE, BURGESS!
Very good!
From the number of new conservatives that are winning the primaries, this November should be the beginning of sanity returning to the US congress.
If we hold the senate and retake the house, obviously keep the WH, we can concentrate on opening the country and the economy and forget about impeachment.
In the mean time, maybe Bull Durham will bring in some indictments on some bad guys {hopefully}.
Hes a good man

He is indeed. This should be a pickup in November over the DemocRAT who squeaked out a victory in 2018 over the VERY disappointing Mia Love.
He’s a staunch anti communist.
If it’s 51-49 for us I’d expect the Quisling in Utah to switch parties
Mia Love had potential- then she blew it by siding with the eGOP once in office.
Nice...Now, Republicans are racist... If we were racist would he won the primary?
“If its 51-49 for us Id expect the Quisling in Utah to switch parties.”
At the very least he would declare as an Independent, but would caucus with the Rats.
He’s 68 and his resume is that he’s a jock
