The story is shocking in exposing just how multi-faceted fraud is in China: capitalizing on pre-existing cronyism and connections with China's powerful army, the founder of Kingold was allowed to basically do anything he wanted, no questions asked, including counterfeiting over 83 tons of gold bars to get billions in funds to participate in China's housing bubble, only for a series of unexpected events to unwind the frauds one after another and expose the type of sordid scandal that is at the heart of most Chinese "enterprises" and business ventures.
Nope, only lead and brass will be tradeable when the crap hits the fan.
It was from a miner’s tune. New Speedway Boogie written by the Grateful Dead’s lyricist.
Please don’t dominate the rap, Jack
If you’ve got nothing new to say
If you please, don’t back up the track
This train’s got to run today
I spent a little time on the mountain
Spent a little time on the hill
Heard some say, “better run away”
Others say, “better stand still”
Now I don’t know, but I been told
It’s hard to run with the weight of gold
Other hand I have heard it said
It’s just as hard with the weight of lead
Who can deny? Who can deny?
It’s not just a change in style
One step done and another begun
And I wonder how many miles?
I spent a little time on the mountain
Spent a little time on the hill
Things went down we don’t understand
But I think in time we will
Now I don’t know, but I was told
In the heat of the sun a man died of cold
Keep on coming or

The ChiComm apes are also counterfeiting rare coins. Be especially careful of buying coins on eBay, including American gold eagle bullion.
The bigger scandal is the fake hose and hose parts they make.
Any connection to the Chinese communist official who had 13 tons of gold in his basement and $38 billion in cash?
It all goes to make me wonder how many U.S. politicians are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the CCP.
I think you could probably get an acoustic reflection off the gold/titanius interface. Although the density may be close other physical properties (Young’s Modulus) may allow for such a reflection. I’m gunna work on a probe that do that. It would sort of be like a gold bar ultrasound.
Add food to that list.
Excellent point!
The brass and lead gets you the food.
Agree! In the worst crisis if you can’t shoot it, eat it, run a vehicle on it, something that serves your life directly it is not worth much.
It was meant to pay off Jim Acosta.
You could even run a vehicle over it, then eat it.
With the right lead you dont need to run, right?
There are also tests based on the difference in paramagnetic/diamagnetic properties of gold vs. tungsten.
Thanks. Fake gold as collateral to build fake ghost cities. The Chinese have a strain of degenerate gambling. Las Vegas has catered to them for ages. Vietnamese too. This why Sheldon Adelson built his casino in Macau after bribing the appropriate officials. This casino is more profitable than his Las Vegas ones

Yes, I noticed that too. The Chinese do indeed love gambling.
