House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that the country is “long overdue” for a national mask-wearing mandate to combat the novel coronavirus.
Asked whether it was time to “mandate the wearing of masks across the country,” she said, “I definitely — long overdue for that.”
“My understanding is that the Centers for Disease Control has recommended the use of masks but not required it because they don’t want to offend the president,” said Ms. Pelosi on ABC’s “This Week.”
Ms. Pelosi also said that President Trump should wear a mask in public, declaring, “Real men wear masks.”
“The president should be an example,” said Ms. Pelosi. “Real men wear masks. Be an example to the country and wear the mask. It’s not about protecting yourself, it’s about protecting others.”
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar noted Sunday that President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are in unique positions, given that they are both tested daily for COVID-19, as are the people around them.
Neither has tested positive for the coronavirus. The U.S. has recorded 2,597,891 cases of COVID-19 and 128,163 deaths, according to Worldometer.

How about a national duct tape mandate, duct tape Nancys mouth and wrap it around her head a few hundred times.
Plenty of pictures around with Nancy without a mask. And even more of Fauci with no mask....AND in close proximity to the President.
Will Nancy also mandate a US source for masks?
Just remember when Nancy invited everyone to China Town to celebrate....and not one damn mask in sight.
If it means she covers up her ugly mug so we don’t have to see it, I’m 1000% behind her call.
Personally, a burka on her would be better, but that could be considered pandering.
Try to enforce it. Local police will in many locations. Use the military,not likely. Revolution by the common folk. Come Nancy make my day.

Just a stupid question here. By what authority, Nancy, does the President have the power to require citizens to wear certain things? Could he order us to wear underwear on the outside? Kinte cloth?

Nextdoor is Karen central. They’ve been attacking a local restaurant here where nobody wears a mask. Fine, they don’t have to eat there. Stay out and leave the rest of us alone.
Fortunately the restaurant is doing well and I try to go eat there every time I see a Karen attack appear on Nextdoor.
Democrats? I've seen a lot of Republicans fall down the same rabbit hole. There were many of us who saw this coming months ago. Getting out of lockdown mode was always going to be far more difficult than it was starting the lockdowns.
The only one that benefits from a mask, is a rioter.
