President Trumps allies are urging him to change his tone and key figures in the campaigns orbit are pointing fingers over who is to blame for the presidents spiraling poll numbers with just over four months to go until Election Day.
There is frustration in Trump World over the president's lack of discipline and his confrontational tone during a time of high anxiety over the coronavirus and civil unrest around the death of George Floyd while in police custody.
Some Trump allies are worried that campaign manager Brad Parscale is in over his head. And there is sniping between pro-Trump outside groups about whether their money is best spent propping up Trump or tearing down presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
Ed Rollins, the chairman of the Great America PAC, a top outside group supporting the presidents reelection, said the course correction starts with Trump. He said the president faces certain defeat if he does not convey more compassion and focus on a message that expands his coalition to include women and independents.
The message is weak or nonexistent. The rambling on about Biden and Pelosi or Clinton and Obama is old and tired. This needs to be about the future, not the past, Rollins said.
He needs to show empathy, which he hasnt, and project strength by doing what Reagan, Thatcher and Churchill did with strong speeches. Not macho bullshit, but thoughtful solutions to serious problems. This is about the future, not what the Democrats did in the past. Make people be concerned with what [Democrats] can do with total control of the government, House, Senate and the White House.

“””The Hill says President Trump is failing the transition from businessman to politics. “””
Good. Politicians have destroyed the country.
it should be renamed The Swill.
There was a phrase that was used and wisely so during the presidents first campaign it was, Let Trump Be Trump.
The professional handwringers in DC need to be reminded of that phrase and then given a popsicle to suck on.

I agree Trump is a terrible Politician. But I don’t want a politician at this particular moment in history. The Barbarians are inside the Gate.
Brad Parscale is probably already out the door as campaign manager. He can stay on top of the political data machine, but I've seen no indication that he knows a thing about managing a major political campaign.
He needs a big win, and soon!
The swHill...
Just nonsense on top of nonsense on top of nonsense.
“The Hill”?
It MUST BE TRUE! /S
There is a problem and I respect Rollins.
But I’m not sure of the approach.
This “tone” thing is a backstab by the establishment GOP.
Trump has shown compassion and the rioters deserve none.
I think I agree with the unfocused message critique. Trump likes to talk. I like to listen. But he needs to project winning messages in shorter, clearer phrases.
Let Trump be Trump was a Cory Lewandowski statement, a good one.
Yeah, Trump and family may as well start packing right? NOT!
I do think the campaign is a little uncoordinated, because I have been contributing 37.00/month for a few months, and I get messages like “President Trump was disappointed not to see your name on some list.”

SNORT!
Propaganda wave is at full height now. Expect it to get worse with fake push polls...
You forgot to put a “D” after the writer’s names. That’s mandatory for any articles from The Hill, Politico or AP.
I believe I have seen this movie before.
Personally, I *like* that the President is keeping the seditionist behavior of our federal *intelligence* agencies front and center.
Compassion and empathy for what? BLM, Antifa? Lets throw in MS13 to really bump up our karma points.
These people will never get it. They want President Trump to act like a politician when *not* acting like a politician is precisely what won him a machine-rigged election.
