The U.K. tech sector is trying to encourage entrepreneurs affected by President Donald Trumps immigration restrictions to move to the U.K. and start a company in a city like London..."Relocating to an EU member state would be the smarter move," said pro-EU campaigner Richard Scott on Twitter. "Citizenship grants you Freedom of Movement in 27 countries, allowing you and your children to study, work, start a business and retire wherever you like."

Let them hire all that they wish.
Good. Maybe they will hire the Indian male ITs who will only fire other Indian male ITs. And somehow this isn’t hiring biases in the US.
*fire = hire
And somehow this isnt hiring biases in the US.

Hiring bias is rampant in this country. Its tolerated when certain segments of society do it, just like violence, rioting, looting and mayhem are tolerated.
Yep. I’m in IT. We have plenty of americans that can participate in the field. My friend used to manage a bunch of programmers and, way back in the late 90’s, he was watching a bunch of contractors work. He suddenly realized that the americans, billing out at $75 an hour, were really no better than the Indians, billing out at $17.50. He wondered why we had the americans. His company ended up being on the bleeding edge of flooding his IT work with Indians.
What they found was that the ability to speak fluent english had value. But that was after many years. Having even a single Indian/Chinese/Pakistani on a WebEx call that has a hard time speaking in clear english messes up the whole project. I come from a time when all project members were americans that spoke fluent english. I long so much for those days of efficient meetings and solid project implementations that I’m considering just getting out of the nonsense I have to put up with today.
Most companies have no idea how much it costs them.
Already indians are in highest position in US IT. CEO's of top companies google/microsoft/ibm. Top management in ATT/Verizon many WallStreet firms etc. So there are more than enough indians to fire other indians.
I guess indian slave IT workers will like to work for their colonial masters in UK.
By the way Trump is 3 yrs late on this h1-b decision.
Good. We can finally give these jobs to our own people.
Meanwhile...... Canada is being or perhaps already has over run with those people who speak English but can not be understood.
Yep. And his weak-ass EO from a few months ago did very little to protect American workers as it claimed to do.
You two have become the enemy. Sniping from the back row of the peanut gallery is a positively left wing action.
You hurt rather than advance the conservative cause
Well, I hope thy have better luck with them than they did with the Muslims they imported.
Take them!
The language problem eventually solves itself. The English speakers are much more useful asking how you like your steak done, or is there anything else you need. All the programmers can talk Hindi to each other.
UK has an estimated unemployment rate of 20%.
If they want to give their jobs to foreigners, they’re going to end up paying twice.
Just like we were doing for years.
Except I’m a business analyst. I have to communicate with both the business and the programmers. And because of all the Indian dialects they come from, the one common language they have is English. Bad english.
And my job is to communicate with both sides. :(
I’m 66 and my father died two days ago. I’m seriously thinking of retiring. Now. I just found out I can get unemployment even though I’m getting SS. I also just finished my 30x60 garage/mancave. I fully expect to be doing projects that I choose to do, and that can bring in some money if I really need it. I may just retire and milk this system for all the cash I can get and get out of the daily stress of this communication mess.
Here is a Prime Example Mistake:
IT people refuse to accept that IT - as a discipline - has become just another commodity. As an ancillary skill for tactical use by professionals in other fields, it still has value. As a career specialty, most IT work has become too commoditized to pay enough to support an educated American.
If you just code, yes.
But the key is to be a coder who is also a business analyst and project manager. Companies pretty much have streamlined where now it’s expected a coder to wear many hats. And that’s where differentiation comes in.
Tech talent my ass....cheap foreign labor is the correct name. The corporations forced Americans to train their replacements...there is no shortage of American talent the bastards just want cheap labor...they could care less about this country!!!!
