As far as I am aware, statues of Jesus, Mary, the apostles or any other persons from the Bible would all be on private property. No one who is offended by such statues has to see them in a public space like a town square or state capitol grounds.
Ethiopian slaves left Egypt with Moses and the children of Israel, Moses even married one, I think there is a region were the Ethiopians call themselves Jews, even today.

Ethiopians have traditionally considered themselves descendants of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba - they even believe that they protect the Ark of the Covenant.
But until they did away with Haile Selassie, the ruling dynasty was Ethiopian Orthodox Christian for hundreds of years. The majority of Ethiopians today identify as Christian.
