The owner of a small cupcake business in Cleveland that was destroyed and looted last month as riots broke out following the death of George Floyd says shes being threatened with future harm and destruction for cooperating with police.
In an interview with Fox & Friends Monday, Kelly Kandah, owner of Colossal Cupcakes, a family business, said the threats include people telling her that if she rebuilds, its going to get hit again.

Aside from threats, she should have come to the same conclusion. Time to move.
Outfit her place with riot glass and let the thugs go to town...
Extortion used to be illegal in this country at one time of day.
Actually, I am kind of glad I am seeing comments on this subject via Facebook and like all Clevelanders...we can be a tough lot...to those saying she should move, there are as many asking, “why should she have to move from the heart of the city?”
And you know, that question rings true to me. If we’re going to keep our country then we’re going to have to make a stand. And in many ways I would also sue the City Of Cleveland for failure to protect the general welfare, negligence and anything else they FAILED to do to protect citizens.
Extortion is a favorite tactic of the Left.
Echoes of Black Sabbath’s “Mob Rules”.
I was saying over and above the threats, she *should* have figured that if she rebuilt, she would be looted again. The shop owners in LA that got looted or burned out generally figured that out after the 92 riots and either moved away entirely or moved to safer parts of the city.
I heard an interview with the Minneapolis interim police chief last night where he attempted to claim that his department ‘wanted’ to defend structures but was ‘unable to’ because they were ‘responding to reports of injured and assaulted persons’ and that the owners and employees should ‘understand’.
like all Clevelanders...we can be a tough lot...

Strength is the only thing that is respected. You either have it or you don’t. Right now the strength factor is all on their side. The question is: when are we going to stand up, stop accepting this bullying, and display our strength?
We talk, whine and complain but do nothing. That’s not cutting it.
Remember one thing: weakness invites aggression.
....”Time to move”.....
Yep! Go to a smaller city like mine, when these lunes took to the streets here they were shut down in one hour.
OH nice.
She’ll never be racist now.....
meh. if she is, as she says, “absolutely for the cause”, then screw her and her cupcake shop.
I think her cupcake lacks frosting.
The response to that is “sovereign immunity” and “established case law”. There is half a century of law and case law that says the only duty the police have if called is to file a report and attempt to find the perpetrators based on that report. The police have *no* legal duty to come protect you, your possessions or your business - none whatsoever. The lawsuit would be tossed out of court.
Your city heart is lost. All that rebuilding will do is mean that she gets looted or burned out again, and your police department will stand by and watch while it happens. Why should she spend all the money knowing it’s going to get destroyed again?
It isn’t some bad part of the city...it’s the middle of the city. They did this rioting in the heart of downtown Cleveland. You know...that beautiful place you saw for the RNC Convention in 2016.
Cupcakes are pretty much the hood ornament of privilege.
Yes, we are in a mob rule situation now. Our leaders and our institutions that WE PAY FOR have completely failed us. Its up to us now.
Hey, I spent a week up on a Los Angeles roof with a rifle in 1992 under very similar circumstances. I’m still not racist.
I just hate *everyone*. That’s not racist. :P
True, but it isn’t like the city didn’t know it was going to happen. Cleveland’s National Guard is less than 10 miles away...the Mayor knew of this probability and did nothing.
