Actually, I am kind of glad I am seeing comments on this subject via Facebook and like all Clevelanders...we can be a tough lot...to those saying she should move, there are as many asking, “why should she have to move from the heart of the city?”
And you know, that question rings true to me. If we’re going to keep our country then we’re going to have to make a stand. And in many ways I would also sue the City Of Cleveland for failure to protect the general welfare, negligence and anything else they FAILED to do to protect citizens.

Strength is the only thing that is respected. You either have it or you don’t. Right now the strength factor is all on their side. The question is: when are we going to stand up, stop accepting this bullying, and display our strength?
We talk, whine and complain but do nothing. That’s not cutting it.
Remember one thing: weakness invites aggression.
The response to that is “sovereign immunity” and “established case law”. There is half a century of law and case law that says the only duty the police have if called is to file a report and attempt to find the perpetrators based on that report. The police have *no* legal duty to come protect you, your possessions or your business - none whatsoever. The lawsuit would be tossed out of court.
Your city heart is lost. All that rebuilding will do is mean that she gets looted or burned out again, and your police department will stand by and watch while it happens. Why should she spend all the money knowing it’s going to get destroyed again?
>>why should she have to move from the heart of the city?<<
She doesn’t have to move, but if she wants somewhere that will stand up for her rights she should move to small town red state areas or she’ll just get more of the same. If you live in a Democrat run area, this is what you get.
why should she have to move from the heart of the city?
Why? The police didnt protect her business despite the taxes she paid, because the government doesnt respect her role in the community.... tax paying business......because people in her community have said they will destroy her business again (and know the police protect her).
The right question for her is “why should she stay in the heart of the city?”
Rebuild somewhere else.
Move out of town.
_Then_ sue the city.
Win. Win.
