On Election Day 2016 I was in the green room at Fox News in midtown Manhattan waiting to go on the air, as was Ambassador John Bolton.
I asked John if he had already voted, to which he replied, “Yes, for Trump. He’s an idiot, but anybody is better than Hillary Clinton.”
That’s why I had my doubts when Bolton lobbied so aggressively for and became President Trump’s national security adviser less than two years later.

The Senate has slow walked Trump’s appointments. McConnell is in favor of the swamp. This is on the Senate Republican leadership. They want to get back to the good old boys perfumed prince version of the Senate.
Bolton has been a hateful POS for decades. I think the only reason Trump hired him was because he’s known for being a crazy warmonger, and he thought it would help him in negotiations with North Korea and Iran.
I don’t agree with the Sessions Bolton comparison. Sessions was believed by Trump to be supportive. Frankly he was one issue person, illegal immigration which was tops on Trump list. Bolton never had a style or indication he would follow Trumps lead. If anything, it was a tragedy from day one and Trump bears that onus. So, from Sessions he got stabbed in the back from a poor decision by Sessions, guided by the dem DOJ, whereas he knew going in from day one that Bolton was not his guy.
Supposedly Jeff Sessions also got hired because he aggressively lobbied Trump for the job.
I hope Trump has learned his lesson. Anyone who lobbies too hard for a position should raise huge red flags.
Endless and unnecessary war. Bolton is neocon POS. We should play Iran and Saudi Arabia against each other for US interest, and quit pretending one is better than the other.
Because that is "hearsay".
I've heard lots of inappropriate things privately in a business setting, but would be grossly unprofessional to repeat them....
A lot of people supported Bush and the neocons at the time, but most see them for what they really are these days.

No flaming from me. I agree. Conservative knee jerk - if the libs are attacking him he must be OK.
He was always hateful and a warmonger. He fooled many, including myself. He was a hawk and was prominent in the decision to go into Iraq. At the time, many of us supported him because we were interested in payback as well. Bush latched on to him because he needed a war monger at the time. One of my many prayers for this day and time though, is that all be exposed to who they really are, and Bolton certainly has dropped his drawers...
Bolton thinks everyone is an idiot except him.

Bolton never evolved in the first place. He was is and will always be a nut.
To paraphrase an anti-LBJ commentator from the 1960’s, when you’ve lost Gregg Gutfeld, you’ve lost conservative America.
I don't doubt that she heard it. But that doesn't change the fact that Bolton still thinks that compared to him everyone is an idiot.
You could say the same about us. At some point the issue will be forced and we will HAVE to act. Until then there will be hedging. It’s a human dilemma: “It’s too early” or “It’s too late”.
Romney lobbied for Secretary of State. Imagine the epic that would’ve been?
Nothing wrong with learning from your missteps. I certainly have. The difference is us conservatives have the humility to acknowledge we are not perfect and actually learn as situations change while not abandoning our principles. Because of this we become better people. On the other hand, liberals don’t seem to learn and stubbornly cling to an ideology that is proven to be counterproductive and fails in the long run. Because of this they all seem to grow more and more bitter and angry as they get older.
