This is really great. So the lesson here is: if you need to kill somebody, get really drunk, hit them with a car, and insist it was an accident. Then cry in front of a judge, “admit” that you’re an alcoholic, and ask for rehab. When you get out of jail in a year, it’ll be like it never happened.

There are countless examples of American jurisprudence one could cite to support my contention that we no longer live in a civilized country. This travesty, however, may be at the very top of the list because in a truly civilized country this monster would have been tried, convicted, and publicly hanged within days of his first apprehension.
