New York Citys ambitious contact-tracing program, a crucial initiative in the effort to curb the coronavirus, has gotten off to a worrisome start just as the citys reopening enters a new phase on Monday, with outdoor dining, in-store shopping and office work resuming.
The city has hired 3,000 disease detectives and case monitors, who are supposed to identify anyone who has come into contact with the hundreds of people who are still testing positive for the virus in the city every day. But the first statistics from the program, which began on June 1, indicate that tracers are often unable to locate infected people or gather information from them.

Who is paying the salaries? How do you monitor the job performance of these “detectives?”
[[[a crucial initiative in the effort to curb the coronavirus,]]]]
Um, no it isn’t
They gonna do this with the protesters?
“Who is paying the salaries?”
Taxpayers, of course.
And if the contactees tell them to phawck off....then what?
“I’m joe biden and I don’t know who I saw in the last 10 years.”
It is NYC. In union terms, it is called a No Show Job.
They know more about prison population infections and use it to release them on us sick or not. Tell me that this is not a fake crisis. A person dies every 11 seconds in this country. Show me where mortality rates are changing, have not seen that or the overflowing morgues.
If my phone identifier shows “Covid 19” or “contact tracer” or any combination thereof:
1) I’m not answering.
2) I “might” listen to the voicemail before deleting
3) I am DEFINITELY going to “block this contact”.
IOS has many advantages!
For Android, got to settings (not apps), click on google setting, it will show covid-19 tracer. If blue tooth is enabled, you are live. I don’t use blue tooth, myself, but is it really off?
“is it really off?”
- exactly.
Kinda like Onstar for vehicles.
The contact tracers arent allowed to ask if the subject has been at a political protest per a De Blasio order, per something I read in the last week. Not joking.
I saw that, too. I’m sure the so-called homeless will answer honestly, also.
As I stated, IOS has many advantages.
BTW ALWAYS read the details before downloading the latest updates.
Sometimes “brighter, whiter, new and ‘improved’” is none ofe above.
What’s Onstar?
Siriously [sic] — never had it activated.
I have a tracphone,IOS minimal stuff on it.
With any amount of luck they’ll turn out to be your typical government “worker” and spend all day watching porn on their computer.
What happens if the person being traced just makes up names and where they were and send them people on a goose chase?
