EXCLUSIVE: Trump Isn’t Sending National Guard To Seattle — ‘I Think It’s Great Sitting Back And Watching This Catastrophe’
Daily Caller ^ | 20 Jun 20 | Christian Datoc

President Donald Trump isn’t planning on imminently sending federal assets to reclaim the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in Seattle, Wash. despite repeatedly threatening to do so, he told the Daily Caller in an exclusive Oval Office interview.

Trump spoke with the Caller for more than an hour Friday evening on a variety of issues, including racial inequality, coronavirus, advertising boycotts, John Bolton, China, and the 2020 election.

In recent days, Trump has urged Washington Gov. Jay Inslee to deploy National Guard troops to retake CHAZ and said that he himself “will take care of it” if Inslee fails to act. The president said Monday that he had discussed the situation with Attorney General Bill Barr. When asked by the Caller what Barr is “advising” him to do, POTUS answered, “right now, I think it’s great sitting back and watching this catastrophe.”

The Caller asked, if he indeed isn’t currently planning on intervening, why continue with the tweets and statements indicating he would do so.

“Well, because we can do it anytime we want,” Trump answered.

Did he say when? Does he have to do it before the people there even ask him to? Why let them choose both place and time? So they can do like Aidid in Somalia and keep the press handy? Why not make them wonder and then nail their leaders at their law firms or wherever, instead?

No, when it comes to Seattle, the residents bought this one. The city, police and state are filled with people who vote democrat every time. The people have spoken. And this is what they asked for. There is no reason for the feds to come in because one guy voted republican. If the people want peace. They will have to demand it.

You don’t own those statues, and they sure as hell don’t belong to “Western Civilization.”

President Trump is playing this perfectly. Using U.S. troops to quell riots in this country would be the end of his political career. That’s exactly what the governor of Washington and the mayor of Seattle want.

“What makes you think the folks in that area are opposed to it? Do you think this was a conservative enclave before BLM and Antifa showed up or did they show up because they have always been comfortable and at ease there?”

I missed where they voted to allow left-wing radicals to destroy their buildings, tear down their monuments, assault their citizens and defy their police. When we start dividing up the country and making assumptions that can’t be substantiated, about what the people here or there want or do not want, regardless that none have voted on any of this, we are ourselves undermining this republic. I don’t care if it is a Democrat dominated state. I live in California, does that mean I am not entitled to the same protections as other citizens?

...they are foisted on society...

Yeah, exactly. The progs weaponized everyone’s children.

In 1983, our good local school began the change from civics to Social Studies. Our child was told to fill out a *family survey* about what TV we watched (none) what magazines we subscribed to (mainstream news)and topics we discussed. I was able to get them to soften the last one without outright lying.

By 1989, the child of a friend was assigned to ‘design a protest’ in senior Social Studies class.

I lost touch after that. I’m sure it didn’t improve.

I do know good people, patriots and practicing Christians, who found $50k/year to send their youngest to Bethel (elementary/middle in a private Christian school; HS in public). Upon graduation, he went to Seattle to design music videos. He stayed nearly another 20 years, so far, mostly in hospitality and lately in sales.

It is sickening. But you cannot fight the culture. The culture will always win and we lost control of it decades ago. We just didn’t believe it was happening.

Wondering if Charter schools could counteract the leftist indoctrination.

Not up on the latest, but Charter schools can be co-opted by anyone with a constituency....at least, they were, here. The one attempt was far left and failed within 3 years.

No one with a business or private practice will run for school board, either. They will get destroyed if they win and smeared when they declare.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You need to read your sources closer...

The Insurrection Acts
The clearest statutory exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act are found in the Insurrection Acts, described above, in which Congress has delegated authority to the President to call forth the military during an insurrection or civil disturbance. The modern version has changed little from the original enactments,230 and is now found in Chapter 13 of Title10, U.S. Code.231 The three main authorities differ according to which constitutional provision they are meant to implement, but the provisions have often been used together or without specifying which part of Chapter 13 of Title 10, U.S. Code, provided the authority.232 In any case where the President considers it necessary to invoke the authority to use the militia or Armed Forces under these provisions, he is required by 10 U.S.C. Section 254 to issue a proclamation immediately ordering “insurgents to disperse and retire peaceably to their abodes within a limited time.”

Once again you apply the wrong Chapter! You're in Chapter 15 - MILITARY SUPPORT FOR CIVILIAN LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES (10 U.S.C. §§ 271-284), not Chapter 13 - INSURRECTION.

Citing the wrong law does NOT help your case.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

We should also not be particularly sorry for the group of hippies and assorted other lowlifes who live in CHAZ. After all, they voted for the communist mayor and governor, so they fouled their own nest; now they can sit in it. Remember, NYC descended to a state like this and finally rescued itself by electing Rudy. With democratic government voters must be held responsible for what they elect. That’s what PDJT is doing to Settle right now.

You DO know there is a difference between the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act, don't you?
They each have different laws, and different Chapters of the law, apply to each accordingly.

You tried to divert the discussion to the Posse Comitatus Act instead of discussing the Insurrection Act.

I'm not falling for that tired trick. I know your ways.

I have visited Mount Vernon and saw first hand the quarters for 250 slaves George Washington owned. I can see why descendants of those slaves may not wish to see Washington’ statue every day on street. Ditto with Jefferson. Don’t know if Grant owned any slaves.

I see it as a States Rights issue. Washington state has the resources to deal with the problem. If they don’t deal with it, that’s a political decision, and there should be political consequences.

Once again, from YOUR source... The 1981 legislation contains explicit grants of authority for military assistance to the police—federal, state, and local—particularly in the form of information and equipment, along with restrictions on the use of that authority.324 These exceptions are found in Chapter 15 of Title 10, U.S. Code, Military Support to Civilian Law Enforcement Agencies (§§271-284).

Pretty sad, actually, on your part.

Trump doesn’t send National Guard troops anywhere.
They belong to the governor until they are called into federal service.

The big word that says it all: TOLERANCE

We have been brainwashed/SHAMED into tolerating everything, from LBGTQ, antifa, BLM, leftists, socialists, riots, looting, destroying our history and monuments, indecision, RINOs, silence, abortion, cowering politicians, the list is never ending. We don’t need to know what’s coming, we just need to be TOLERANT of it...

I prefer to watch leftist cities burn to the ground by their own leftist hands. Those leftists in that city, the people and the politicians, made their bed. Let them lay in it now.

By the way, that "1981 legislation" mentioned wasn't the Insurrection Act.

From YOUR source...

In 1981, Congress enacted general law enforcement exceptions319 to the Posse Comitatus Act prohibitions...
