Turning “flattening the curve” into a nation-wide lock-down with no definite end in sight nor clearly expressed goals for opening back up went a long way in creating the all-in (anything to beat the ‘rona)/all-out (this is nuts) mentality. It had other unforseen consequences that we are now living through.
Quarantining the healthy, productive, and law-abiding comes across less like deliberate, considerate, and measured action in controlling the spread of the virus and more like an over-reaction to the pandemic or thinly-disguised tool for controlling the movements of the population.
No thanks on me starting a thread. I prefer to join active ones, but I know why you refuse to discuss Barr.
If you support Barr you acknowledge the absurdity of his position making everything else he’s investigating fall apart. One can’t be so wrong on something this big and still be taken seriously. So it's best for you to deflect and continue to play games with marginal people, who, BTW, are fast running out of time. They'll be no arrests before election day, a mere 140+/- days away. That whole Letter thing? It was a scam and I can't wait to rub it in your funny looking face when it all falls apart :)

And, as an aside, this bullshit about quarantine only being for “sick” people is a construct made up in the last few months. Historically, a quarantine meant a complete shut down. A shut down of your home, your village, your ship...etc. if you were there, you got shut down. It wasn’t just for sick people. It was everyone.
I am not advocating any action other than keeping an eye on ICU beds. When those are occupied, and rising—only an idiot would put themselves in a position to be exposed. I don’t need a governor to tell me that. I’ve repeatedly written that I don’t care what the rest of the world does.

This is all excellent news but doesn’t really have anything to do with whether there is a 2nd wave or not.
I wish this was broadcast more widely. It might prevent Governors/Mayors from overreacting like we’re seeing today in Houston and Florida.

The governors/mayors know this information. They are intentionally using it to damage the economy and push for vote-by-mail in order to damage Trump’s candidacy and literally steal the mail in votes (that’s their specialty, stealing elections).
Since the actions of the Governor/Mayors in intentional, they will not change until the election.
I think we need recall elections and call/mail campaigns and protests. NOTHING ELSE WILL WORK.

I wish that were true. Dr Feelbad isn't going away. Watching the fights last night on ESPN (I know, espn sucks but I was at a friend's house) and their crawl read: "Dr Fauci: recommend not playing baseball into October". Unfortunately he's going to insert himself into every corner of American life as long as he can. He can't be fired, too much backlash if that happened. You gotta know your enemy, and you gotta keep your eye on him and handle him the right way politically unfortunately.
