Supreme Court declines to hear Trump challenge to California sanctuary law
The Washington Times ^ | June 15, 2020 | Stephen Dinan

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear the administration’s challenge to California’s main sanctuary city law protecting illegal immigrants, dealing a significant blow to President Trump’s hopes of forcing jurisdictions to cooperate with ICE.

The justices did not offer comment on their decision, though two — Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito Jr. — said they wanted to hear the case. It takes four justices to put a case on the court’s calendar......."

They can be enforced, but you’d have to work around the non-cooperation of certain states and municipalities. ICE,BP, DEA, ATF and the FBI are not barred from entering LA, but they will get no help from the LAPD. No biggee. They got riots to sit around and let happen. The federal government has plenty of other resources.

What about post # 12?

Enforcing the laws already on the books?

And by “enforcing the laws already on the books,” I mean Federal laws.

"Worth repeating the truth"

It's not. Federal immigration laws are still enforceable. That hasn't changed. This issue was about whether states can be forced to assist enforcing federal laws. Under our federal system, they can't. This outcome was never in any serious doubt. But nothing stops the feds from enforcing federal law, and nothing stops non-sanctuary states from choosing to assist.

Why are we concerned about what institutionally indoctrinated, activist justices say about renegade states like California when the states have not only given Congress the express, 14th Amendment power to STRENGTHEN our constitutionally enumerated protections, including the guarantee of a republican form of government for each state, but also the power to impeach and remove Constitution-ignoring justices from the bench?

From the 14th Amendment:

Patriots have the golden opportunity to send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government Democrats and RINOs home in November!

Supporting PDJT with new patriot federal and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping SARS-CoV-2 will effectively give fast-working Trump a "third term" in office imo.

And it is Donald Trump against the deep state. The deep state is everywhere. Not looking good.

This country is done not because the SCOTUS will not hear a case, it’s because the people that are for rule the of law will only complain and emote about it on the internet.

"...Ok Joe explain how refusing to hear this helps the cause of stemming the tide of illegal immigration."

I think I understand but would like to hear what you think also.

Thx.

You pulled that out of your butt.

Why don't we just go back to the post you supported as “the truth”:

“This means people can come into the country in any number and the immigration laws cannot be enforced”

This NON ruling doesn't mean anything of the kind. ICE will still arrest and deport you whenever they want all over the country. Federal immigration laws are still the same. No ruling whatsoever was made.

The Supreme Court merely declined to hear the case with two justices in support. It takes 4 justices to hear a case. They didn't make a ruling one way or another. The case can and will be litigated at another time probably after the elections.
Even settled Supreme Court cases can be re-litigated by a differently constituted Supreme Court.

There is a 6-3 liberal majority with Roberts and Kavanaugh, Miss Ruth makes no difference now.

And what hasn’t been mentioned already, they dealt a huge blow to the 2nd Amendment today also.

Saddest day in American history.

“No ruling was made.”

Exactly. Always a silly rush to lifeboats.

SCOTUS has always maintained the Feds have the authority. It is up to them to enforce the law. Just a guess, but they knew had they heard the case the result would have only increased the ‘mostly peaceful’ idiots in the street.

Full steam on the wall. Continue deportations. And reduce, delay Fed $ to sanctuary areas.
