Anarchy in Seattle
City Journal ^ | 6/10/2020 | Christopher F. Rufo

Raz Simone, a local rapper with an AK-47 ... was filmed allegedly assaulting multiple protestors who disobeyed his orders, informing them that he was the "police" now, sparking fears that he was becoming the de facto warlord of the autonomous zone.

The city government has not developed a strategic response to the takeover of Capitol Hill. According to one Seattle police officer with knowledge of internal deliberations, the city’s “leadership is in chaos” and “the mayor has made the decision to let a mob of 1,000 people dictate public safety policy for a city of 750,000.” The officer said that Chief Best had dispatched high-ranking police officials to the autonomous zone to establish a line of communication, but the officials were immediately sent away by armed paramilitaries at the barricades.

Just wait—They will impose their strict laws in their commune and start shooting folks. They will do themselves in. If the police move in—They will fight and it will be bad.

interesting historical summary TheErnFormerlyKnownAsBig

One thing you might have missed ... The Battle in Seattle for the world trade conference.

I dont know if it was Durkan or others ... But afterwards, they made peace with the riot groups. A bunch of the protestors were given jobs (think predecessor to Sound Transit, public housing coordinators and community outreach).

So radical folks from Seattle Pacific U, Evergreen etc. who would not be able to get a decent job, now were paid well with potential of a great pension after 30 years. One is a cousin of a good friend - when she joins for a BBQ at his place, she and her BF both laff at the cushy jobs at Sound Transit - they basically work less than 20 hrs a week, leave early each day and get great job reviews.

This is the lesson that some on the Capitol Hill protests learnt

Sawant immigrated from India with a degree from a tier 2 Indian College (Need to reform H1B - to just allow grad from the best schools)

She married a cuck that worked in Amazon AWS engineering - then after getting involved in extreme politics, divorced him taking most of their $.

Her support is these crazy liberal women in Seattle who think that they are making a difference by attending a 2 hour protest on the weekend, followed by a 3 hour brunch at a trendy restaurant in Belltown.

Seattle City Council Member Kshama Sawant is a Marxist. I wish someone could knock her off the council in an election.

Sawant is calling for the resignation of Mayor Jenny Durkan. For Sawant, Durkan is not liberal enough.

it is worse that that. The Port of Seattle controls both the ports and SeaTac airport.

There are a bunch of liberal that have a slush fund for community development and engagement,

On the small end of things they have refused to renew the lease of long-term restaurants at the airport - and given it to minority owned restaurants.

On the scary end of things -— they are hiring from every aggrieved group. For instance they starting hiring a ton of Nigerian for the airport cargo operations. The only thing that they will not touch is the longshoremen union.

If a city falls in anarchy to little communists in train8ng, is it a national security threat at all? Seattle being a huge port, that is my only concern. That they could be allowing inroads to sone foreign state influnce from CCP china etc. maybe this is not an issue?

Wow, thanks for the detailed history. So this madness has deep leftist roots. I think we’d probably find similar stories in the other “liberal” cities where civilization and law are breaking down and anarchist/communist terror is bursting out.

It didn’t happen overnight, but has been years in the making. This has accustomed people to a sort of suspension of urban social standards...for years, people have been laughing at whatever nonsense has come out of these leftist cities and saying, oh, ha, that’s just Seattle (or Portland, or any other leftist loony bin). Meanwhile, the left was deadly serious about their plan to subvert and take over, and now we see it come to pass.

Let Raz run the Seattle police for 3 months - then they’ll beg Trump to “kill them all” so they can feel safe again...

I like their hypocrisy./s
Border walls are immoral and guns must be banned due to “gun violence” yet the first thing these piss ants do is set up a wall with armed guards!
Enjoy paradise you godless liberal filth.

This is the best real life example to awaken leftists and fence sitters around the nation.

Didn’t the feds have a response for such a thing? I seem to remember something about Bundy or Finnigan in Oregon or Nevada or something. Seems like when it was whitey, they were ready to rumble....

Young people don’t know history anymore. It’s been watered down, rewritten or parts erased from textbooks. That was a huge benefit to homeschooling - we could pick textbooks that left nothing out - including the horrors of communism and its gateway, socialism.

Seattle has long supported Marxist causes. There exists the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle. It was established in honor of the Communist labor leader in 1992 and supports community outreach by UW faculty and students and labor organizations. In 1999 it played a central role in the Seattle, Washington World Trade Organization protests. The Harry Bridges Chair was created in 1992 with the help of over 1,000 gifts from individuals and unions, “particularly pensioners and active members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.”

They will just take over another city lacking any FedGov response - which failure to respond is what is emboldening them in the first place

Who? Another nut case? Seattle was called the “Far Side” in the 80s. Its now way beyond that.

All the lunatics should be subject to federal kidnapping charges when this is over, and they should be placed in federal prisons far from Washington state air dropped over Cuba.
