I’m sure that you’ll have to be a registered Michigan voter for the signature to be valid. And I guarantee the leftists will validate every single signature. That means they will need probably 1.3 million signatures to allow for some to be tossed.

Yep. Its a victory for Gretchen if they don’t get enough signatures. She then gets to claim she has been undefeated.

The petition proponents ought to start advocating for 3 things as they gather signatures:

1. Insist they be able to collect a new voter registration card at the same time they collect the petition signature. (equating it to same-day voter registration).

2. Insist on the ability to collect signature by mail from people that can receive an “absentee petition ballot” by mail, or via convenient online download of a PDF form. (We just can risk the further spread of Covid-19 by having direct person-to-person contact, don’t you know!?)

3. Have the petition posted prominently and presented for signature (or not) at DMV offices statewide to recipients of new and renewal drivers licenses.

It would be fantastic to see the Democrats rail against these options for the recall signatures, while simultaneously be for them for the coming November election.

“..Her Lt. Governor might be worse, this could be a BAD idea....”

Maybe.

But not as bad as letting her think she can just get away with zero consequences for f***ing up peoples’ lives and livelihoods.

She doesn’t get a free pass. None of them should.

:: if they don’t get enough signatures ::

That’s why the “drive to it” strategy will work.
wHitler’s drones will attempt to strike as many signatures as possible under dubious circumstances.
One favorite tactic is to disallow an entire page for one fraudulent signature.
Another is to disqualify the canvasser as a non-voter...so don’t use them.
It is easier when all the petitions are in one smoky backroom for evaluation, so get rid of that phase.
It will also eliminate fraudulent signatures unless someone can prove thru their DL and VoteReg that they actually ARE Mickey Mouse.

Chad Baase is from my home town but I don’t recognize the family name from my childhood. Iffin’ I knew his momma, I’d contact him (I simply refuse to FB).

Oh, and put one petition spot in Albion.

So, since your excuse failed........ did you actually contribute or are you just blowing smoke?

I have friends (stop laughing! I’m series) in Michigan. They fled to the UP during the virus.

Detroit and East Chicago (aka SW Michigan) along with Dearbornistan, are all Socialist enclaves. They doubt this petition will get the threshold signatures they need.

I live and work in Maryland, but only go into DC when it’s absolutely necessary.

We’re heading to Michigan in early July for two weeks. Few days near Detroit, a few near Grand Rapids and about five days in the UP. We’re paddling the pictured rocks area.

She probably was so heavy handed with COVID because she got a slap down on the roads. I still have not heard much about car insurance reform, either.

She was not qualified to be governor, but her pretty face, and marijuana on the ballot, got her into that office. She makes Granholm look like a Sunday School teacher.

I cannot believe so many approved of how she handled things. I want to worry her with that petition.

It would be easier with locations, canvassers miss people.

I really love DC. Have worked there all my life and have lived there on and off. It’s my second home. But it has never been a conservative haven, sadly. The touristy and business district parts of the city are very pretty. Restaurants are good. Politics stink. Mayor is a joke. Amazed it has survived this long.

True its not good, but the reason for the bipartisan agreement here is so Gretchen can use this for a claim of support for her administration.

Michigan has about 10,000,000 people of which approximately 20% are under the the age of 18. Thus, at least 1 out of 8 adults in Michigan will need to sign the recall petition.

Michigan has 10 million people. The recall requires signatures of one million registered voters, ten percent of the population. Are there one million registered voters? Something seems incongruous here, somehow I feel it cannot be attained. I pray I am wrong.

California is on it's third attempt to recall Newsom. We have 40 million people and only need 1,495,000 signatures. Why are so many needed in Michigan?

Yep, Gretchen gets a win over the recall if it doesn’t happen. She then claim her opposition is weak, because they don’t have the numbers to get a recall.
