Graham postpones Russia probe subpoena vote as tensions boil over
The Hill ^ | 06 04 2020 | Jordain Carney

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is postponing a vote on authorizing subpoenas for more than 50 individuals as Republicans ramp up their investigation into the Russia probe.

Graham said he was delaying the vote to give senators enough time to fully debate the issue, as the meeting brushed up against a pre-scheduled vote on the Senate floor.

"We're going to do what this committee needs to do, and we're doing to fight it out and we're going to vote. And we're not going to be done today, so I don't see a resolution this day, if you need to go somewhere go. ...I think the best thing for us to do is [to] carry this over to next week so we can have a full discussion," Graham said.

He added that "we'll get to [a] conclusion next week" on the subpoena vote.

Graham's announcement came after a tense moment in the committee, with multiple members yelling at each other as they tried to figure out the schedule for the meeting.

"Can we get a sense of how long we're going to be here? .... With all due respect, I don't think anybody in private ever disagrees with me when I say that it's bulls--- the way people grandstand for cameras in here. The reality is if we didn't have cameras in this room, the discussion would be different," said Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.).

Sasse added that "90 percent of our committees are about people trolling for soundbites."

Graham countered that "I don't think they're trolling for soundbites, I think they're genuinely upset with what I'm doing."

Linda is walking the tightrope between looking good while getting nothing done.

It takes a delicate sense of balance.

___

He’s very good at it, that’s all he ever does.

So the RINOs don’t want to subpoena the Democrats that tried to remove a duly elected Republican President from office. How is that not treason?

Why wouldn’t they? The coupists know they have top cover from the GOP Senate. Weissmann is running his mouth all over MSNBC, McCabe on CNN, etc. Guilty as sin, free as birds.

Why would they refuse to show? Because of all the Trump administration people who refused to show up when the House subpoenaed them. Turnabout is fair play.

No one is more conservative than a RINO before an election.

Look at that, Ben Sasse is upset at even a fake hearing designed to whitewash everything because the day before someone made Rod Rosenstein squirm. And now suddenly he's outraged that politicians seek soundbites and wants to .. surpsise! .. end the hearing. And Graham caved, after making a suitably tough sounding rebuttal of course.

It's all Kabuki dance meant to anesthetize us. Bread and circuses. That applies to virtually everyone in the Senate.

The House never subpoenaed them. They were fake subpoenas because the House never voted to allow them in their fake impeachment hearings.

The “House” never subpoenaed them.

The rouge House Select Committee on Intelligence issued subpoenas before the Full House had given them authority.

After they received that “authority” they never issued any subpoenas.

Infact they recinded outstanding subpoenas.

They'll say they aren't showing up because it's a political witch hunt or that their conversations with Obama are covered by executive privilege or some such. One way or the other they won't be there.

Linda is shocked! He never thought anybody would insist on ASKING QUESTIONS; or that anyone would want to subpoena 50 others! “Who signed me up for this crap?!”

I was thinking about the subpoenas that were issued during the impeachment hearings and which were ignored. I'm pretty sure those were authorized.

linda figures out a way to delay the 'probe.'

Sen. Sasse's remarks about Senators grandstanding the the cameras is absolutely correct. linda's response to his remarks is typical. There is no greater grandstander than linda.
