Business mogul John Catsimatidis is laying the groundwork to run for mayor again next year.

Catsimatidis, 71, a Republican whose Red Apple Group owns the Gristedes supermarket chain, a slew of energy companies and 77 WABC radio, said he’s forming an exploratory committee for a 2021 mayoral bid.

He ran for mayor in 2013, narrowly losing in the 2013 Republican primary to former MTA boss and deputy mayor Joe Lhota. Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat, won the general election and was reelected in 2017.

Given how low the turnout was for the last mayoral election, I’ve been wondering for a while if ‘Rats in that neck of the woods have found it better to subtract than add when it comes to votes.

What we are witnessing is a civil war of so called blue and red as the blues are transforming themselves into rebellious socialist province DNC sh*tholes to fight their arch enemy Trump. It isn’t as cut and dry as that because red in many cases can be much stronger and larger than blue but blue tends to hold cities, capitols and the urban peoples army. Red for the most part has done virtually nothing against red at the suburban parallel as blue now is threatening red.
