Can Giuliani run again? He was term limited out but I don’t know if that means he can’t run again for a non-successive term.
I know a lot of people here didn’t like him because he is certainly a social liberal (not anti-abortion, pro-gay, etc., positions which I don’t like either) but he doesn’t push those things and is extremely competent and gets competent people around him.
He has the looter vote.
Warren Wilhelm Jr and his arch enemy in Albany managed to slaughter more people than the 9/11 terrorists.
So, the judgement of competence would be one of perspective. Are Islamic terrorists impressed with the competence of Mayor Wilhelm? Or, do they feel resentful at being so effortlessly out performed?
Why would he want to? Haven't the people of NY city proven what degenerate losers they are? they don't deserve a good mayor. They deserve Bill de Bozo.

Why would he want to, at this stage of his life? That would be a huge professional downgrade. And, is there a pump powerful enough to clean out the cesspool left behind by Warren Wilhelm Jr?
Another Guiliani will show up in 2021. Deblasio has shown he is another Dinkins.
He’s allowed to run again. But he’s getting on in years, so I don’t know if he’d want to. He seems to be champing at the bit, though.
Do not be shocked if Fox bans Rudy from the airwaves. He was letting DeBlasio have the other night, and the female anchor was a little peeved I assume.
Trump is the rare person in his 70’s who can go full tilt every day and for long days. Most older people can still perform but not without plenty of rest.
I grew up there and lived there most of my life. I voted for Giuliani and I deserved a good mayor. All the people I grew up with (in my nabe, mostly of immigrant Jewish or Puerto Rican stock, with a fair number of blacks from the South) and who still live there deserve one too. The problem is that the Dems have been so efficient in eliminating the competition that there is literally nobody else to vote for in many local elections.
There have been no Republicans in city offices for decades, and thus there are no known faces as candidates. Registered GOPers are very few, so it’s got to be a known face to attract voters from what are the Dem ranks...only technically, because a lot of New Yorkers, especially lower middle income, are very conservative but have nobody to vote for.
Many New Yorkers would vote for him or anybody he anointed.
and what comes after him will be bad, but everyone hates DeBlasio. So the bar will be low!
Incompetent, yes, but the real problem is he cannot bring himself to oppose his own. He feels he should be leading the Revolution down in the streets.
Giuliani still has all the smarts and the charm. But he might not have the energy. Biden has none of the above. Neither does Hillary. Bernie has the energy, but he’s certifiably nuts. Run Lurch again. He never had anything but the arrogance, and he’s so entertaining because he believes every word of his own hype.

We have the same problems here in Calif. Democrats have legislated ways to fix elections in their favor. It’s one party rule here practically state wide, although we have millions of Reagan conservatives here. Democrats have perfected the art of filthy politics and election stealing.
