The political effects of the riots are likely to both seal Trump's reelection and to consolidate support for the Second Amendment. The riots may even save the endangered GOP Senate majority and its flock of vulnerable members up for reelection this year.

I have a cousin in California who is ardently conservative and pro-gun. He finds that riots make for a wave of converts to both causes -- especially among vulnerable small businessmen.

GET A GUN AND SHOOT THESE BASTARDS.

The left foments this hate and violence then LIES and says it’s Trump supporters doing it.

When is enough, enough???

I don’t have your experience. I would rather have a 6-shot revolver than a 2x4, all things being equal. It is almost impossible for Joe Blow to get a gun in NYC. I am just saying, if an old Colt Navy blackpowder revolver clone is legal in NYC, then I would get one and at least have something that is preferable to hand-to-hand combat.

There are 9 million people in New York City.

30,000 people are legally allowed to own guns. That is 1/3 of 1 percent.

3 people out of 1000.

Imagine a town of 10,000 and only 30 own a gun. That’s NYC.

Just trying to give some perspective of the real situation here.

That’s not an AK *rifle*. It’s a 12 gauge AK shotgun.

A much simpler solution would be “don’t live or work in NYC” and “move to somewhere where you are allowed to defend yourself with effective arms”.

"I hope they fare well, especially her husband."

I called my niece and found out that the Rochester, New York Recreation Department fired a bunch of people at the top who were making big bucks. At least they got rid of the scum at the top who makes the rules that the poor slobs at the bottom of the ladder have to enforce. My niece's husband had just gotten promoted to a supervisory position, and they demoted him when the lockdown occurred. Plus, they've partly furloughed him, which means he only works three days a week now instead of full time. I also found out that he hasn't been feeding kids, because the rec center has been closed for kids. However, he's had to go into work to feed the homeless, and crack heads. He's supposed to go into work on Tuesday.

The hospital my niece works in is in Irondequoit. It used to be a nice area, but over the past 15-20 years, it's taken a dive like a lot of the suburbs of Rochester. There was a beautiful mall in Irondequoit. It had two floors, and I used to take my kids there when I visited my sister who was living in the area at the time. They ended up closing it because nobody wanted to go there anymore because of the gangs, and slugs that hung out there.

My niece also told me that the City is looking for volunteers to go into the City to pick up the mess left by the rioters. Picture that.

Meanwhile that doofus Brett Baier on FOX says this is more demonstrations about how blacks have been treated forever in US.

FOX so full of shit. This will not end until the truth is addressed and the real perps are no longer protected.

I am so glad to hear from you!

Between the Covid garbage and now this destruction caused by anarchists, Rochester is in the depths of despair.

Not to mention the democrat crackheads who just keep on voting for more of the same stuff. My beloved tells me that folks will keep voting for democrats because their family lines for decades voted democrat. His family is Catholic and if it wasn’t for the Abortion issue he believes his mother would still be voting for democrats. He has a younger brother who votes republican and stays there to help his mom.

I’m still blown away that the Jews vote by the millions for democrats who would gladly eliminate them. My beloved has to keep reminding me the American Jews believe the laws will always help them. It’s only because the Christians follow the laws that the Jews are safe, like so many other folks in this country.

Truly sorry, mass55th, about your niece’s husbands job issues. And also glad to know at least some of the scum that rose to the top in his company got fired. It always seems the lower workers get the worst end of the stick. And that happens all over the world, throughout history so I don’t hold our country personally responsible. Each person is responsible, not the country itself.

I do, however, make one exception: When democrats control the powers of the country. Because at that point the democrats really do control everything. Pres Trump’s found out the hard way how evil they are, and helped by henchmen and wenches on the RINO side of the aisle.

Time to get off my soapbox. I only get to get on it so many minutes a day or my blood pressure rises, no matter how much soothing tea I drink and how many stretches I do. LOL

Time to cut off cable

You can still get OWN if you have Roku and other channels on ana la carte bases.

You know all the stuff about black people being afraid for their lives, these guys don’t look afraid to me.

Yeah, that one more liberal lie. Black community thugs throw things at cops when the cops are protecting filthy thug neighborhoods on normal days.

Irondequoit Mall. Was so impressed when I went there in 1997. Then when I went to visit in friends in ~2000 or so, I said to friend "what happened to the stores?". Probably 1/3 of the stores were closed. A few years later I was there and there were maybe 20 fo the stores left. What a shame. I read a couple of years ago that the Merry-go-round was sold, boxed up, and sent to China.

The only mall I would even consider going to now when I go to visit is Eastview. Marketplace is dying. And Greece Ridge has kids running around. Not a good sign.

And I have friends who run a business near (on South Union) where this assault occurred. I told them today “you better be prepared to protect your business in case the RPD can’t”.

The last time I spent any time in Rochester and Gates was when my sister was diagnosed with lung cancer, and eventually ended up in hospice care. She lived in Windsor Gardens Apartments at the time. This was back in 2010. I’m the last one left in my family, so there’s no one I’m connected with back in Rochester. We lived on Immel Street, off Jay Street as a kid growing up. That whole area is bad now...has been for a very long time. My brother and his wife lived off Jay on Colvin Street, right across from the grammar school we went to. It had previously been turned into a senior citizen apartment building. After my brother died in 1995, my sister-in-law stayed in the house until her mother passed, and then she took over her family home in Ontario, NY. I remember her asking me what I thought of her moving to Ontario, and I told her that she had better do it now, before she got too old to do it. We’re close in age. I’m 72, and will be 73 in August. She’ll turn 74 in December.
