Meghan McCain's father-in-law misused his position in the Trump administration for private gain by capitalizing on his government connections to help get his son-in-law hired at the Environmental Protection Agency, investigators said in a report obtained by The Associated Press.

The Interior Department's Inspector General found that Assistant Interior Secretary Douglas Domenech reached out to a senior EPA official in person and later by email in 2017 to advocate for the son-in-law, Eric Frandy, when he was seeking a job at the agency.

Eric Frandy is married to Domenech's daughter, Emily.

Douglas Domenech is also father to Ben Domenech, who married McCain, the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, in 2017. Neither McCain or Ben Domenech were involved.

If they took away nepotism in DC they would have to cut the employee roll by half.

Nepotism is one of the fundamental human failings that is why Communism will never, ever work.

Typical white collar type of criminals. They funnel taxpayer money to adult family members like brothers in laws, sisters in laws, adult children, etc. I could fill a page with examples.

Meghan consumes a lot of food. He was just to help his son provide for
Meghan’s “needs”.

That's called a good start.

Except that his son is married to Meghan. It’s the husband of his daughter he was intervening for. The other issue is he did nothing illegal, as it had to help him, his wife, or his children directly. In laws do not matter as far as the la concerned.

Maybe he should have found him a job in Ukraine. That seems to be no problem for Democrat officials.

Why would anyone with a connection to the McCain family be working for the Trump administration in the first place?

Full disclosure: my stepfather got me a summer job as a firefighter with the California Division of Forestry nearly 50 years ago.

A man he worked with for many years had just landed a high level promotion at that agency, so he called him up.

My first Fire Captain treated me like crap for about the first six weeks. He didn't like being told that "no matter how badly he performs at the interview, you WILL hire him."

I proved myself, and earned a return for a second summer...it was a great job. Who knows, had I not had a ROTC scholarship, it's possible I would have tried to make it a career.

Of course, there's a big difference between landing a summer job at $500 a month, and a $100K permanent job in the federal government.

Somebody is really digging deep for any kind of dirt on Meghan.
She has a tendency to tick people off - in both parties.

That's what I want to know.

The story itself is no big deal, but the fact that someone connected to Meghan is working as a senior Trump admin official is troubling. Trump is surrounded by snakes.
He could be one of the leakers.
