Jerry Nadler in 2004: ‘Paper ballots are extremely susceptible to fraud’

If President Trump is seeking a high-ranking Democrat to side with him against mail-in electionballots – in a bid to build bipartisan opposition to the idea in Congress -- he could try contacting U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler.

Although Nadler, as chairman of the House JudiciaryCommittee, helped lead the impeachment fight against Trump last year, a C-SPAN video clip from 2004 shows the New Yorker speaking out strongly against paper-based ballots during a Capitol Hill hearing.

At the hearing -- in which lawmakers examined perceived voting problems in an Ohio election -- a member of the public spoke in support of paper ballots, later citing research by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that she said showed hand-counted paper ballots to be “among the most reliable” voting methods.

Nadler didn’t agree.

“Paper ballots are extremely susceptible to fraud,” he said. “And at least with the old clunky voting machines that we have in New York, the deliberate fraud is way down compared to paper.

In my field of work - that of mental health - I have been discovering that there is a marked difference between mental illness and psychopathy. A person with mental illness at least has some measure of conscience. A psychopath does not.

ll voting systems are susceptible to fraud at some level. Paper ballot fraud requires great numbers of personnel in each vote counting area. Mail in ballots requires fewer operatives and is easier to cover. Electronic fraud requires only a very few computer ops. All methods are susceptible to big city manipulation where the big cities report their vote counts last in their states. DJT won Florida last time due to the incompetence of the vote counters in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Mail in voting is probably the easiest to cheat at the front end. Mail in balloting is Democrat winning. Without a major change in our voting system there is probably not much chance of the Democrats losing the next or any subsequent Election.
