Mass gatherings of over 100 people might not happen for a year in New Mexico because of the coronavirus pandemic, says state Tourism Secretary Jen Paul Schroer.
"I know a lot of events have been canceled this year," Schroer said last Wednesday on reopening the state's hospitality industry. "We may not have the ability to do a mass gathering until we have a vaccine or herd immunity. It could be a year or 18 months."
A spokeswoman for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham agreed.

Anything to prevent a Trump rally.
>> “We may not have the ability to do a mass gathering until we have a vaccine or herd immunity. It could be a year or 18 months.”
By all means postpone herd immunity by keeping everyone subjugated in perpetual lockdown for political expediency.
WTH are all of these politicos still going out in public before cameras? Put them in lockdown at home and force them to telecommute to their meetings and press conferences.
Never put a pantsuit / Karen in charge of anything. This is what you get.
The Constitutional right to “Freedom of Assembly” has been nullified by your Democrat overlords.

2022
Remember when they said it’d just be 2 weeks?
Imagine the uproar if they’d said up front you’d be in lockdown until Spring 2022?
She and McCaskill must be sisters
She looks like Mrs. Ed.
The south facing side of Mrs. Ed as she looks north...
Who is Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham taking her marching orders from? By all accounts, the media has lied to us and the World. Give it up Michelle.....
Persons in New Mexico still can request special permission to seek leave to pursue an application for the right to consideration for an exit visa to assemble peaceably outside the State, subject to such terms and conditions as the Governor of New Mexico and the government of receiving entity should think proper. Such persons may or may not then pursue reentry into New Mexico, subject to such isolation periods and quarantine hardships as may glorify its governor.
And in any case, haven’t you heard? A new Constitutional amendment, ratified late last winter, repealed the Bill of Rights. Yes, it was drafted, it passed Congress, and the States ratified it, all in secret; the text is still not yet public.

89% of New Mexico’s cases are in just seven of New Mexico’s 30 counties, and the deaths are in just five counties at the most.
The interactive map at the link shows the idiocy of locking down the entire state, when the viral experience between counties and locations is so vastly different.
Every governor that insisted on the lock down scenario should have taken a county by county approach from day one. Some counties should have had no lock downs under any scenario.
We had our family reunion on our New Mexico ranch last year. Good thing we didn’t wait till this year because we had way over 200 people. In fact, Otero County Electric Company came out to replace the transformer during the event. We were using too much electricity for the old homestead. New Mexico is a beautiful land with fabulous people who had better figure out how to quit electing idiots like the current governor. Our family members are sick of it. Our family is Hispanic and Republican. There might be one or two who don’t support Trump. The rest are hard-working Hispanic Americans who trace their ancestry back hundreds of years to the Lincoln Country area.
The 2 NW counties that both have about a 1/3 carveout of Navajo reservation land is the bulk of the percentages along with nursing homes having around 50% of deaths statewide. Just like the governor punishing the entire state for the infection rate of a few counties, she is also punishing 66% of the 2 counties because the native infection rate in their state is so high.
The 33% reservation land inside those counties are governed separately as sovereign nation land. It is self governed, does not answer to state or county governing and with the infection rate doesn't seem to follow federal covid guidelines either. The navajo government has placed them under crippling curfews, but with only 100 police officers and 27,000 square miles to police you could say the curfew fails miserably, proven by the daily increases in cases with the strictest lockdown in the country.
Meanwhile the 'Me Too' governor proving to her other female governor cohorts on who can rule with the heaviest fist like it's a competition between them.
not that I would ever advocate for it but i am surprised that some of these Nazi a-holes that are costing folks their businesses and lives haven’t at least had their asses kicked or tarred and feathered or worse.
Thanks for enlightening everyone about New Mexico’s geographic distribution of its demographics.
The “progressives” love to be the government “in control” but increasingly for decades have made governments that are untrustworthy, making rightful skeptics of the sheeple.
